finished the doc, I've had this dumbass theory for months
ok so
i think we need to start at the VERY beginning of deltarune.
before kris. before the dark worlds. before literally anything happens.
THE SURVEY PROGRAM.
the opening has a very different feeling compared to the rest of the game. we're being directly addressed, we're asked to create a vessel, and then the entire thing gets thrown away.
if gaster is the one behind the survey program, then this would make a LOT of sense.
he isn't just some guy who happens to exist in deltarune.
he's the guy who created the system that deltarune exists inside of.
and that would mean he's interacting with us from OUTSIDE the game.
not as a character in the world, but as the person running it.
