Muting the DeSantis cult left and right today. I can't take it anymore. The guy was a tremendous Chief Executive. But if you think sucking up to Trump is going to improve his chances for higher office, you are sorely mistaken. Trump is taking the entire GOP down with him.🙄

Raised Catholic, I was taught abortion was wrong in all circumstances. I became a single-issue voter.
Years later my first pregnancy ended tragically. At 12 weeks there was no heartbeat.
They scheduled a D&C. I was sobbing so hard during the procedure that they stopped and brought my husband in to calm me before trying again. That’s the same procedure used for abortion.
Since Roe fell, women in many states have been denied or delayed that care while doctors fear prosecution.
Abortion saved my life. It allowed me to go on and have three successful pregnancies.
I would never take life-saving care from a woman and her doctor. But if a woman’s faith precludes her from this, I respect her decision. That’s her choice for herself.
Changing your mind isn’t weakness. It’s strength.

Only politicians who don’t want more choices for the people believe this way. Noted @RonDeSantis

When immense wealth threatens to punish those who dare question it, democracy begins to look less like a system of government and more like a hostage.
My first thought as well. The timing is very suspect.
From a PR perspective, this could be why @ElonMusk announced the “largest philanthropic gift in history” yesterday.
Kyiv was hit last week by a massive Russian strike, which Ukrainian defense systems were unable to intercept due to a sudden loss of Starshield connectivity.

Ignoring the fact that she was escorted out is a big problem here. I suspect that if she was white that wouldn’t have happened.
🚨 I spoke personally with Ken Paxton’s campaign about what happened to Thelma. They acknowledged it was a horrible mistake and assured me the campaign intends to do everything it can to make it right with her. We’ve also reached out to Thelma.
Thelma deserved better and had every right to speak up. Sharing her experience does not diminish her commitment to our movement, and her concerns deserve to be taken seriously.
Mistakes happen, especially in the final weeks of a campaign. Leadership is measured by the response: acknowledging what went wrong, taking responsibility, and moving quickly toward a solution. This incident deserves to be addressed, but it should not become a referendum on Ken Paxton’s ability to serve or the work he would do in the United States Senate.

Pay attention Florida. Amendment 3 was rushed through, poorly thought out, and an election year ploy.
Vote NO.
Senate President Ben Albritton, who presided over the 30–9 vote to put Amendment 3 on the ballot, now says he’ll vote NO on Amendment 3.
He warns rural counties could lose up to 30% of their resources, threatening law enforcement, emergency services, and infrastructure.
I respect Ben and appreciate his willingness to speak candidly about the consequences. But perhaps this is exactly why the Legislature should have required comprehensive fiscal modeling and local impact analysis before putting it on the ballot.
These questions deserved answers before the vote, not months afterward. floridapolitics.com/archives…

Just a few hours ago, President Trump said in the Oval Office that I should be tried in court because I dared to talk about the corruption coming out of the White House.
If I've learned one thing from this past year, it's that you have to push back. I'm not going to be intimidated out of standing up for the rule of law and the country that has given me everything.
Incredible ad. This gets to the heart of Texas and Talarico tells it like a true Texan would. America has forgotten what we are all about and it's nice to see such a reminder.

I’ve got to agree. Trump has led American Christians to a period of time in Christianity that nobody else could do — but not in the positive way Trump means it. He has done more damage to our Christian witness than anyone in my lifetime.

So let me get this straight. Slotkin suggested we prosecute people who broke the law, and right-wingers freaked out, saying how wrong she is... but now they are saying, "pardon all Trump staffers."
I am sorry you cannot have it both ways.

It should alarm everyone that Trump's allies—including a potential A.G. pick—are threatening Senators for merely suggesting that corruption be investigated and prosecuted.
@MichiganDems stand with @ElissaSlotkin and call on Republicans to denounce these calls for violence.
This man, @mrddmia, who is suggesting I be shot, was in the mix to be President Trump's next Attorney General after he fired Pam Bondi for not prosecuting more of his political opponents. He is now at a MAGA dark money group, mobilizing death threats against me and my staff for sport.
This shouldn’t be controversial: if you aid in stealing taxpayer money or directing it to enrich President Trump or his family, then you should be held accountable for that crime. That’s what I said, and I stand by it.
And if you use the justice system for frivolous lawsuits used to intimidate and jail your political opponents, you should be held accountable for that via your bar status. No abuse of power and not violating the law? Then we have no problem.
We know most Republican politicians are desperate to change the topic from their failing agenda. That’s how this kind of coordinated right-wing media play works. The threats and intimidation — of me, my staff, and my family — *are the point* of this kind of play. This dude and so many others are just hoping that we'll shut up in response.
Not going to happen.

I have known hundreds of senators over decades of working in and being around the body. No one is more disgraceful to the institution, to common decency, to fundamentals of democracy than Mike Lee.
Spare me the pearl-clutching — especially from Republican Members of Congress and online MAGA grifters who have cheered President Trump's weaponization of the government against those he doesn’t like, as recently as last week. This is a subject I know something about: Less than a year ago, Trump directed the DOJ and FBI to investigate me, and then tried to criminally indict me for a 90 second video, exercising basic free speech. The same free speech you’re exercising now, lying about what I said in this clip. If not for an anonymous group of grand jury members standing up for America's laws, I’d be criminally indicted for sedition. President Trump has turned the government against people, with raucous support from you and virtually all D.C. Republicans. So spare us the manufactured outrage.
America must be a place where the rule of law still matters. Those laws should apply to everyone equally. If you have aided in the corrupt use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to benefit the President or his family, or you have violated the law in order to carry out guidance from the President, you should be held accountable. And given how rampant that corruption appears to the average American, people looking to work for his Administration should realize that while the Supreme Court has granted the President immunity, it has not done the same for those who do illegal things at his behest.
