Just got on my flight to Winnipeg. There was an ~5 year old boy crying in a Hellebuyck jersey. Talked to his father and he said little Billy saved up his allowance for that jersey and thought by going to Winnipeg he could convince his favorite player to stay. Billy then turned to me and said… “M Bon why do these Americans hate Canada so much, first the tariff war that massively impacts both economies and now the Olympic players” Gutting stuff.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Alex Formenton to a one-year deal worth $850K AAV. Formenton was part of the 2018 Canadian World Junior s*xual assault trial, and has not played in the NHL since 2022. He played in Switzerland last season.

This is also one of my earliest memories as well. We stayed and I'll never forget watching all the cars pulling up hoping to get into the stadium after they left and the announcer saying "for those of you in your cars, the score now is..."

One of my earliest Bombers memories was being at this game and convincing my dad to leave in the third quarter, and then hearing the comeback happen on the radio on the drive home. Lessons were learned that day.
