The beautiful thing about the World Cup is seeing people from all walks of life come together. This week the people of Lawrence, KS have gone above & beyond to embrace and essentially adopt Team Algeria. This is the best of America, let’s spread the word about the positive. #worldcup #usa #algeria

This is James from my middle school yearbook. He was a classmate of mine in Charlotte, Michigan. He was thirteen years old when he died by suicide. James was the first person my age I remember losing that way. His funeral was the first funeral I ever attended. I was in eighth grade. The funeral home was only a couple blocks from the middle school, and the school allowed students to leave during the day if they wanted to attend. I remember walking there. One of the kids who bullied me the most walked beside me. That day, he was different. He talked to me. He was not mean. There was no threat. No cruelty. Just two eighth grade kids walking to a funeral we were not ready to understand. Looking back, I wonder if he was dealing with his own pain too. That does not make the bullying okay. But it reminded me later in life that people can be carrying things we know nothing about. I remember the open casket. I remember looking at James and trying to understand how someone our age could be gone. James was my first moment of trying to understand suicide. Sadly, he would not be the last. I’d guess many of you have a name you still remember too… Someone you loved. Someone you knew. Someone you still think about. If you are struggling right now, please stay. Please talk to someone. Call or text 988. You have a place in this world. You do… Be safe, Trooper Ben #HelpMore

Believe!
This is so powerful. Atheist Astronaut Reid Wiseman reveals he broke down crying after returning to Earth and seeing a Cross "I'm not really a religious person, but there was just no other avenue for me to explain anything..." Jesus is the answer. ✝️

AMEN!
I walked up to the store expecting a quick in-and-out—grab two things and be gone in five minutes. Instead, I saw a handwritten sign on the door saying they’d be closed from 11 to 12 so the staff could attend a coworker’s funeral. And honestly, it stopped me in my tracks. In a world where people are often expected to just keep working no matter what, seeing a store pause everything for an hour to honor someone they lost felt rare. Just one hour—but it said more than any “we care about our team” slogan ever could. It didn’t frustrate me—it made me respect them more. Some things matter more than convenience, more than schedules, more than getting errands done on time. For that one hour, they made it clear that a person mattered more than business. I showed up for something small and left thinking this might be one of the few places that still remembers employees are human first.

We need more of this! #ACA 🎯
It was an emotional postgame presser for @HUMensBB as Bryce Harris and Ose Okojie shared their final thoughts about Howard HC Kenny Blakeney and how's changed their lives. Their answers are almost ten mins long (which obvs speaks to KB), but here's a little snippet:

Look at the map. 338,000+ red dots. Unique IP addresses trading, distributing, and sharing child sexual abuse material… children under 12. Do you notice the blue dots? Probably not. Those are the actual investigations. Law enforcement needs more resources, more support… a bigger rescue team. This is a fight of good vs. evil, and we are losing.

Every day we wait, they suffer. Right now, there are kids praying for a rescue—for someone to step up, step in, and do something.  Are we actually going to protect these kids from further exploitation, or are we just going to keep talking about it?

The NFL lost another teammate wayyyyy too young yesterday in Rondale Moore. Absolutely gutting. Listen, to every athlete out there… I will keep saying this over and over and over again… when you are in pain LEAN INTO YOUR TEAMMATES!!!! They WANT to be there for you. A locker room is absolutely magical!!! It’s such a unique FAMILY. I get hiding the pain because I did for 50 years!!! Had the biggest personality to hide really really bad pain. That pain absolutely fucking sucks!! I get jt. You feel like you don’t want to be a burden to others or others won’t understand. Turned out I was wrong!! Life changed when I started opening up. It will for you too and most of all… YOUR TEAMMATES WANT TO BE THERE FOR YOU!!! So if you’re struggling, open up, it’ll only get you closer together. Take THAT plunge… instead of making that other decision. Pleaseeee lean into your teammates. GOD bless!

THIS!
Let me tell you something. When somebody says, “I prayed for you,” that ain’t just words. That’s action. That means when you weren’t in the room, when you couldn’t defend yourself, when you didn’t even know what to ask for… somebody went to God on your behalf. See, anybody can say “I got you.” Anybody can say “I’m thinking about you.” But prayer? That’s love that shows up quietly. That’s love that covers you when life is heavy. That’s love that asks God to step in where they can’t. And sometimes you don’t even feel it in the moment. You just notice later… something didn’t break you the way it should’ve. Something worked out when it didn’t make sense. Something protected you when you didn’t see it coming. That’s prayer. So if someone ever tells you, “I prayed for you,” understand this — they loved you enough to take your name into a sacred space. And that… that’s a real love language.

This boy had been shunted from family to family in the foster care system. Until he found this family. Their Christmas gift to him is my Christmas gift to you. Stay safe, stay happy and enjoy everything and everyone around you. Even that weird uncle. Merry Christmas. Marty x

WELCOME HOME: One high school student's graduation was made that much more memorable when his father – a U.S. Army sergeant serving his fifth tour in Kosovo – stepped out from the crowd to surprise him and his family.
