Orientation and Day 1 for the 188th Academy was a moment to remember. The recruit training officers delivered on their promise to challenge every recruit. They are about four weeks in, and l can almost guarantee they are looking forward to the end of this day. Happy Friday!

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is reminding drivers in unincorporated Alameda County to follow Section 22500(f) of the Vehicle Code to keep pedestrian pathways safe and clear. Avoid a costly citation by reviewing these parking guidelines.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect through 10 PM Thursday, September 10. Take steps to stay cool, stay hydrated, and check in on family, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Never leave children or pets in a parked car, wear loose-fitting clothing, stay hydrated, find shade or air-conditioned spaces, and apply and reapply sunscreen.

On August 20, 2026, the Regional Training Center and the 186th Academy hosted a 5K Memorial Run and 2K Walk in remembrance of San Francisco Police Department Officer Isaac Espinoza, who lost his life in the line of duty on Saturday, April 10, 2004. fb.watch/JmWkBSDIfJ/
The Alameda County Narcotics Task Force dismantled a major Bay Area drug operation on 8/27. Detectives arrested Darrell Hargrove & two accomplices, seizing over 8kg of narcotics (heroin, cocaine, meth), 2 handguns, and over $15K in cash. All were booked in SF County Jail.
