AC Birthday Bot

I don't want this 3-year project to go to waste because of the sheer incompetence of the world's richest man, so I'll just push posts manually until the upload media endpoint is created. It baffles me how something as basic as posting a picture isn't in the only available API.

Welp, Twitter just literally killed my birthday bots. With no warning. 😥 Apparently they silently shut down the version of the API I've been using for years, and replaced it with... an unfinished version that (brace yourselves) does not allow UPLOADING PICTURES.

If you're noticing how my bots are not working some days, it's because Imgur basically decided to straight up not work at all, and this has caused the bots to get rate limited daily... right as I began a new job and am at my busiest, mostly unable to fix or make posts manually 😅

Alright, so looks like the AC and FE Birthday Bots will keep working as usual after the API changes That's good news, for sure, but we must keep fighting. Great bots such as @aceCourtBot2 are still left in the dark. Elon created both the problem, and a solution that's not enough

Hey 👋 As you know, Twitter will be no longer allowing free access to its API starting next week, meaning many Twitter bots will, simply put, stop working at all. I will do my best to keep running bot the AC and FE birthday bots, even if it means doing it at a loss... (1/2)

And of course the birthday bots fail when I'm not free to fix them. Twitter API has been working pretty badly lately 😅 Will be posting birthdays from the past two days as late posts soon-ish. For @FE_BirthdayBot, I'll figure out what to do with the yearly stats in 2023. Sorry!

no official statement or anything cause i've honestly got no idea what just happened to the birthday bots lol i was literally playing pokemon

Today marks 2 years since I launched @AC_BirthdayBot. To think I made it out of boredom during the first weeks of the pandemic... time flies so fast. Anyway, hoping to catch up and resume normal bot activity in the upcoming days. Sorry for not doing a proper celebration 😅

If bot posts are coming late, or they're just skipping days, it's because I need to catch up with all birthday pictures, and I'm currently in pretty busy times involving university assignments, work for tournaments and, more recently, personal life. Hope y'all can understand! ^^
