📣 Save the Date! AFSCME Council 4 Lobby Day 2026 is happening on Wednesday, April 15 | 10 AM–2 PM at the State Capitol. Let’s stand together and remind lawmakers: the real power lies with workers!

AFSCME Council 4 takes enormous pride in recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month, which occurs annually during the weeks of September 15-October 15! #afscme #AFSCMEStrong #AFSCMECT4 #WeMakeCTHappen #greenmachine #UnionStrong #UnionYes #WhenWeFightWeWin

We're proud to honor the powerful role Latinos have played—and continue to play—in the labor movement. From fighting for safer workplaces to leading on economic and social justice, Latino workers are building a stronger, fairer America for all.

Happy Labor Day from AFSCME Council 4! Today, we honor the working people who keep our communities running — the public service workers who care for the sick, educate our children, maintain our infrastructure, and protect our neighborhoods.

We were honored to witness this powerful moment alongside lawmakers and community leaders, as well as law enforcement, recognizing the bravery of public servants who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, AFSCME leadership proudly stood in solidarity as the Fallen Hero Fund Bill was signed into law in Connecticut.

C4 staff was excited to see State Representative Kaitlyn Shake at the Governor's ceremony for the Fallen Heroes Fund bill signing, at Hartford Fire Department Engine Co. 11. She is one of AFSCME Council 4's strong allies and one of the closest friends of labor at the Capitol.

❤️💚🖤 On June 14, Council 4 members, families, and community came together to honor Juneteenth — a day of freedom, reflection, and unity. We celebrated with music, food, speakers, and solidarity, recognizing the importance of this day in both American and labor history.

📢Rally for justice! Local firefighters were fired after being injured on the job—the Green Machine stands with our IAFF🚒union siblings!💪 #afscme #AFSCMEStrong #AFSCMECT4 #WeMakeCTHappen #greenmachine #UnionStrong #UnionYes #WhenWeFightWeWin #AFSCMEPublicSafety #PublicSafety
