Year 2 were lucky enough to experience a Fire experiment conducted by our very own Scientist from Far Far Away! As scientists we tested which materials burned easily with a great link to our learning in History (The Great Fire of London) ❤️🔥 Wood= very flammable!
Reception Class has a wonderful time in their African Drumming Workshop. This was a fantastic way for us to celebrate and explore music of Black origin for Black History Month 🪘✨
Year 1 had a fantastic time at their African Drumming workshop this week, learning about traditional West African drums and singing a song in a West African dialect. We are so proud of them for embracing this exciting experience!
Year 3 enjoyed a lovely workshop with our nutritionists and learnt all about the importance of healthy eating! They even sorted food into different categories based on the eat well plate! Why not have a go at cooking a balanced meal at home for your loved ones? 🍓🥒🥔🥦🍅
In History, Y3 have been exploring facts and writing about what they would do with materials if they lived in the Stone Age. Look at their beautiful ideas & handwriting too! Can you write a diary entry about living in the Stone Age? What would you eat and where would you live?
Year 2 enjoyed finding out about Samuel Pepys as part of their learning about the Great Fire of London. We discovered that he wrote in a special diary in 1966 to describe the historical event. Our pupils took on the challenge of writing in shorthand just like Pepys, can you...?
Reception children had a wonderful time sorting foods into their correct categories. They were able to talk to nutritionists about the eat well guide so that they can make healthy choices.
Children of Avanti Fields and @KrishnaAvantiPS came together for a board game afternoon with Somerville Retirement Living 🫶 We had such a lovely afternoon teaching the residents how to play games & also learning from them!
We can’t wait until next time! ❤️#characterformation
Children in Year 3 have been busy learning about how rocks form, inspired by ‘The Pebble in My Pocket’. They’ve created some amazing story maps and illustrations as part of a home learning task! Can you create your own story map explaining how rocks form using key vocabulary?
Year 4 have been creating their own musical compositions with Miss Jones in Music this week. We can't wait to hear her play them to us next week :)
Year 1 had a fantastic time in their Aboriginal Art workshop! 🎨 They showed courage and self-discipline, using different marks and lots of creativity to design animals inspired by the artwork they explored.
Reception children explored mixing paints to make the colour green. They investigated how adding more yellow or blue changed the shade. The children noticed the different tones they had created and used them to make their own beautiful woodland scene.
Year 2 have had a wonderful time exploring our new outdoor Gym equipment. What a wonderful way to exercise with friends and in our local environment!
Year 1 have been learning about our school community. As part of our topic, we went on a local history minibus trip to explore different places in the community. We saw the gurdwara, the police station, KFC, and many other important places in our community!
Year 3 children have been ordering numbers from greatest to smallest, and have been using the following symbols < > =. Can you have a go at ordering some two digit and three digit numbers? Is there a pattern you notice? 🔢
Year 4 have been learning about living things in our local area. We were checking our insect traps in this picture! Which insects are in your local area?
Reception children have begun their new year of learning with a monumental Yagna ceremony. This special occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning, growth, and success, inspiring them to embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm and curiosity.
