Enjoy fish video from my team & I. Hate to push so hard but we aquatic scientists are seeing profound effects of climate change. See 111 world aquatic scientific societies statement on climate change here #saveourfishclimatestatement. Talk about this, share your climate stories.
This week Am. Fish Soc. released a statement w/ 110 of world’s leading aquatic scientific societies urging governments and societies to curb greenhouse gas emissions now to maintain somewhat intact freshwater and marine ecosystems. #saveourfishclimatestatement. Now time to act.
Proud to be quoted in @AmFisheriesSoc led climate statement - when 110 aquatic scientific societies representing more than 80,000 scientists globally call for urgent action we should act! ow.ly/pbD450Bqg5S #SaveOurFishClimateStatement

With AFS meeting etc. coming up I didn’t have time to deal with this critter in backyard but it is what it is. Beautiful creature. Captured it, took way out in desert, let it go. Don’t try this at home, I had rattlesnake capture training back in the day. Sound up great rattle.

Great escape into the mountains for a few hours on Sunday. Neat finds - a bighorn sheep skull, the rare and highly endangered Nichol’s Turk’s Head cactus, and more fossils. Got my energy back for another week of computing!

Great news on “Statement of World Aquatic Scientific Societies on the Need to Take Urgent Action Against Human-Caused Climate Change” that AFS wrote in collaboration w/ other world societies. 107 societies joined statement w/ > 80,000 members. More to come...

All best wishes to our colleagues, families, friends, and others who are enduring the brutal storm coming ashore in Louisiana and Texas. Our hearts go out to you during this exceptionally tough time.

$14 power bill for our solar powered house in July in Arizona. >100F almost every day, central AC going 24hr/day, and electric car powered, all off solar. Last pic, fish across world affected by climate crisis. Increasing # of people want to do something. Reduce emissions now.

The first online @TheFSBI Annual General Meeting today. Good to see positive links with the @AmFisheriesSoc President @Scottabonar1 and Toyoji Kaneko, President of the Japanese Society of Fisheries Science. Another great years' work by the FSBI Council.

Big monsoon rains hit Arizona, so I called students to go “road riding” at night to see life that comes out after first big rain. Sonoran toad, Couch’s spadefoot, tarantula, rattlesnake, scorpion that glows in dark with black light, what’s not to like in desert night after rain?
