V for Vendetta is #7 on Apple's US iTunes movie chart the day after Guy Fawkes Night. Twenty years on, the $6.99 mask is still outselling half the new $24.99 slate.

Hugo Weaving never took the mask off, and the chart still hasn't asked him to.

Brad Bird pitched Ray Gunn for 30 years before Netflix wrote the $150M check nobody else would. Sam Rockwell is the last human detective in a city that automated the job; Scarlett Johansson is the pop star whose scandal might kill her. The first clip is Bogart with a jetpack.
First clip from ‘RAY GUNN’, directed by Brad Bird (‘The Incredibles’). The film follows a private detective who is drawn into a case involving aliens & murder in the alternate futuristic city Metropia. Releasing December 18 on Netflix.

Tom Waits voices the one-eyed alien partner. Some casting calls write themselves.

Coraline is #8 on Letterboxd Popular This Week, a 2009 stop-motion classic wedged into a chart of 2026 releases. The button eyes aged better than half the new slate.

Hexed: a Disney teen tries to magic a path through a swamp and gets a giant centipede instead. Teenagers with powers remain the studio's scariest effect.
New clip from Disney's new animated film ‘HEXED’. The film follows a girl who discovers she has magic abilities & sets out on an adventure into a magical realm. In theaters on November 25.

In theaters November 25. Bring a parent. They've already lived this plot without the animation budget.

Wednesday box office: Street Fighter fell 45%, the steepest drop in the top 10, and sits at $55M domestic after 20 days on an $82M budget. The health bar is blinking red, and Capcom is probably already charging it $4.99 to continue.

My take on Ramayana - In this modern era of multiculturalism where I see different countries proudly showcasing movies with their cultural stories, breaking the barriers and opening the doors to their world, I have often wondered, will India ever enjoy that moment where an Indian story reach the world. Well, it was about time that the World needs to be aware of the ultimate story of Ramayana, which I truly believe is the inspiration for a lot of other classics worldwide, and eventually how it shaped Indian culture. Nothing makes me more proud than this version of Ramayana being presented to the world. What DNEG achieved with this movie will rewrite Indian cinema, and how far it can reach. Not just the VFX & CGI which are exceptional and top notch, the movie beautifully shares the message of “Dharma” that is so deeply rooted to Hinduism. As Lord Ram says in the movie, “We seek forgiveness, not out of fear, but because a war never solves anything” or when he says “Never take our kindness as weakness, we respect everyone”, these teachings are the pillars of Hinduism for ages and is so beautifully entrenched in the movie. Now, strictly cinematically speaking, this is how you set up a story where the villain Ravana’s character is so well written that he feels invincible and you feel the hatred towards him by the end, and Lord Ram’s character is so deeply humane, humble & righteous that the eventual face off seems like a David vs Goliath story & the Ravana defeat that follows will feel so well earned and deserved (hopefully in Diwali 2028). Me, being an ardent movie lover, very few movies from India makes me proud and this one definitely is one of them.

Matt Damon passed on Ted because he figured the bear was the best part, and the bear agreed. It made $549M worldwide on a $50M budget, beating The Hangover as the biggest original R-rated comedy ever. Overthinking his way out of a sure thing is peak Will Hunting.
Matt Damon says he was offered the role of John in ‘TED’. “I was like, Well, ‘maybe the teddy bear's actually the best part.…’ So I overthought it and I talked myself out of it.” (Source: gq.com/story/matt-damon-men-…)

Mark Wahlberg said yes and got two movies of thunder buddy money out of it.

Never After Dark is at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, a horror movie where a medium clears out ghosts and learns the living are the real problem. Anyone who's worked a Boxing Day shift at Canadian Tire saw that twist coming.

Channing Tatum's Gambit accent is thick enough to stand a spoon in, and I want a Doomsday cut with no subtitles.
Channing Tatum's voice as Gambit for ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ has been revealed.

IMDb's most popular movies right now. Amazon cut Ali G: Who Iz I? down to three days in 125 theaters, and he still talked his way into the Top 10. Respek is earned, not distributed.

Sega bought Rovio for €706M in 2023, and now Sonic is in Angry Birds 3. His three movies made about $1.2B worldwide, while Angry Birds 2 made $152M, under half of the first one's $352M. The birds needed a rescue, so the boss slingshotted in his fastest employee.
First look at Sonic in ‘ANGRY BIRDS 3’. In theaters on December 23.
