Due to some more complex captioning work than we expected, this rollout will be delayed a bit! We're working hard to get recorded versions of the sessions to registrants ASAP.🙂 #MSUa11y

Reframing perceptions of #accessibility in #highered is important. Accessibility should not be seen as a set of requirements or boxes to check, it is a mindset, a view toward learning that directly influences the explicit and implicit ways of supporting all students #MSUa11y

Yes!!! This was such an important topic brought up by the student panel. Higher Ed IT need to put more emphasis on accessibility evaluations and faculty need to only choose tools supported and approved by the university! #MSUa11y – at Howell, MI
#MSUa11y students w/ disabilities panel: higher ed IT administrators need a higher caliber of accessibility testing process. Don't procure tech products before knowing if they are accessible. A lot of times they aren't, and then it's too late. "This cannot be afterthought."

#MSUa11y panel of students w/ disabilities say a big barrier they experience is when instructors use 3rd party websites that aren't accessible/approved by the university. "I can't tell you how many times I've been in tears with a website I can't use."

Just a little human/animal kinship to get us thinking about the everyday realities of the online classroom for teachers and students.
Love when cats jump on with presenters at #MSUa11y with @kate_sonka from #TeachAccess and @michiganstateu 😸🐈🐱
