I'm looking for beta testers for RootSketch, a new site for preserving family history.
You upload old letters, journals, photos, and documents.
It transcribes them, keeps them organized, and helps turn them into life sketches of your ancestors.
It's free while we test.
Try it at rootsketch.com and tell me what works and what's confusing.
Reply or DM me if you're in!

Trending on X out of Maricopa County: Republicans have taken a slim lead in early ballot returns by party registration.
According to the trend summary for October 23, one drop of more than 53,000 ballots came back 40.1% Republican and 35.3% Democrat.
Overall among about 506,000 Maricopa returns, Republicans are at 38.4% and Democrats at 38.3%. That is a 0.1 point edge.
Important caveat: these figures track the party registration of people who returned ballots. They are not votes for candidates.
Statewide, Democrats still hold a slim lead among more than 840,000 returns, though Republicans are said to be doing better than at this point in 2022.
Election Day is November 3. The governor's race is between Katie Hobbs and Andy Biggs.
I live in Arizona, so I am watching this one closely.

New from The Daily Show: a sketch about the GOP's "Chief Deniability Officer."
Grace Kuhlenschmidt plays Sheryl B. Bahama.
When a new Trump outrage hits the news, Sheryl steps in to give Republican lawmakers what the description calls "a protective layer of ignorance."
The bit names Mike Johnson and Tommy Tuberville.
Her job is to make sure they can answer uncomfortable questions about Trump with a confident "I don't know."
About four minutes of Daily Show satire:

This chart ranks gas prices by state, colored by which party controls each one.
Look at the top of the list.
Hawaii. California. Washington. Oregon. Maryland. Maine.
Almost every high price state on this graphic is Democrat controlled.
Then look at the bottom.
North Carolina. Georgia. Texas. Tennessee. Louisiana.
Almost every cheap gallon is in a Republican controlled state.
Same country. Same oil. Different policies. Different bills at the pump.

Recently, @boringcompany filed a revised permit for the construction of another tunnel at Giga Texas, and the first tunnel liners have been delivered to the site in a new construction fence location next to the Advanced Technology Chip Fab as shown in these images from today.
This will connect under the Colorado River and is a single-lane, bi directional tunnel. The original site & tunnel document cover sheet is attached for reference. We should soon begin to see the setup of operations, including the silos, belt cassette and other equipment in addition to the Prufrock TBM.
Yet another big construction project to follow at Giga Texas!

Christian apologist Sam Shamoun sits down with Latter-day Logic and Gospel Guardian for a long, in depth debate.
Two members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and, in the description's words, "one of Christianity's most well-known apologists," going deep on doctrine.
They take on big questions.
Is there a Heavenly Mother? What does the Bible teach about the Trinity?
Does God the Father have a physical body? Can humans become gods?
They also compare the Godhead with the Trinity, creation from nothing with eternal matter, and theosis with exaltation.
The description calls it "a respectful but challenging discussion designed to encourage critical thinking and careful examination of Scripture."
Almost two hours of serious conversation:
