Glad to have the chance to visit the Manchester Fire Department and AMR Manchester this afternoon! New Hampshire is the safest state in the nation thanks to our exceptional first responders, and I’ll always have their backs.

For the first time since 2015, last month Manchester experienced zero overdose fatalities. To be clear, every life lost is a tragedy and the nature of addiction is variable. We continue to be encouraged with the progress we are making as a result of our efforts with our community partners.

Had a great meeting with Chris Stawasz of Manchester AMR and spoke about CPR and how we can promote CPR training all over the state. Standing in front of Tomorrow Wall that recognizes first responders that saved the lives of Manchester residents who had out of hospital cardiac arrest. I know now more than ever how important this immediate response is. Our EMS/fire and first responders are critical partners in making this happen. More to come!

This morning, I met with the team at AMR in Manchester to talk about ongoing efforts to address the opioid and addiction epidemic. New Hampshire’s first responders provide life-saving care, and I was grateful to hear from them and learn more about this vital work.

At GMR, one of our guiding principles is 'One Team', we respect each other and achieve together what no individual can alone. When a Manchester Firefighter suffered a heart attack, our AMR crew members worked together with his colleagues to save his life. ow.ly/hVbS50C33bL
