Sifa is a Rogue (2), Assassin (3). She stalks her prey, Paladin Eritz (Acolyte 2, Paladin 10), just clever enough to take out a target over twice her level.
But wait, is that actually POSSIBLE in L.O.R.E?

So, how does this work?
Sifa has the Expert and Combat roles with her class combination, with a focus on Stealth, Subterfuge, and Critical Hits.
In a straight fight, Eritz would obliterate her, probably in one turn, but knowing this instead of triggering a Combat Encounter, Sifa instead opts for an Environmental Encouner.
These Encounters work the same as combat: rounds, turns, actions, etc, but each Turn can last up to hours. With this, the general course
Sifa tracks Eritz on his way into town (Stealth + Survival/Subterfuge rolls) -> She sets up her disguise (Subterfuge Specialization) -> Subterfuge rolls to attract his attention + Study Target (Assassin feature, she has 2 actions) -> once he's close, she's "Hidden", she triggers the Ambush -> transition to combat encounter.
Ambush -> Eritz is "Suprised", Sifa is "Undetected", 2 attacks each with +3 levels of Advantage (character stuff) and each with a x4 Crit Multiplier and a Crit Range of 17-20
On a strike, she could trigger her precision damage to do 5d6 + 4, which on a crit would deal 20d6 +4.
Now, during an Ambush, damage done ignores a target's Endurance, instead going directly to their Hit Points. With only 30 HP, Sifa easily takes Ertiz down.
Assassins be scary.
My mental state is definitely unhinged right now and it's being made all the worse by the fact that I cannot go a SINGLE DAY without someone telling me genAI is the future of games.
COOL. Great. Just like toys are mass produced plastic carbon copies of each other, you can go ahead and do the same thing with game dev.
If you're fine copying someone's homework that did it better than you and telling everyone you made it yourself, cool.
If you want to stop learning how to do things yourself so you can make actual art, cool.
Maybe, just maybe, shut up about it instead of clogging the freakin' tubes with your righteous justifications.

This aligns immensely with my own philosophies on crunchier rulesets. One thing I think is missed, though, is that larger toolkits allow for more improvisation.
If you have rules/tools to create on the fly that you don't have to live-design, when your player says "but what if I"... your "yes, and" response is supported by the game.
I can’t speak for others but my desire for robust rules has less to do with competitive and PvP play and more a desire for verisimilitude and agency. As a player, I don’t want the GM to make it up as he goes along and I don’t want no prep improvisation. I as a player want a game world with knowable rules and fixed canon so that I can appreciate its existence as a “real” secondary world. I believe agency is not really possible when it’s left to GM fiat and GM improvisation to decide. I wrote all of Arbiter of Worlds about this. It is my belief that robust rules in an objective world are most conducive to flourishing player agency, immersion, and if desired competition and PvP. The downside is they require more investment in learning and (for the GM) prep so they are not for everyone. But I personally don’t like playing with no prep role light GMs. ACKS is designed for what I want to play, not for what is easiest to GM, or most empowering to the GM.

One of the only times I've seen PvP work was running several professional (paid) games.
I made an arena specifically for PvP with rules, non-permanent penalties for death (read: economy), and was mostly for fun build testing.
Otherwise, I've only ever seen it break tables.
