I wrote 2,422 as I finished another chapter in draft three of Celestial Saga IV. This was the conclusion of what used to be one chapter in the first and second drafts. While working on the third, I realized there was a natural ending point to put a pause and insert some of the new additions to the story. Splitting this chapter in two helped a lot!

My entire feed for the last few days has been filled with multiple gaming and sci-fi franchise communities coming together to help #SaveMassEffect. It has been incredible to see and warms my heart. Mass Effect means so much to so many people and it is alive and well!

September was a pretty great month! Not just with writing, but mainly personally! In fact, this was the best September and month I’ve had in a while! Normally I don’t take the best care of myself or pay myself very much attention at all. I wanted to change this trend to create a better and healthier life. So far, I have done just that! I’m exercising regularly again, eating healthier, and enjoying hobbies! For the first time in a very long time, I have hope and joy back in my life. Something I didn’t think I’d be saying ever again. If only Alex from September of last year could see me now. I have made some good progress with the third draft of Celestial Saga IV. Still a ways to go, but the progress is steady and I believe I should have it finished in October or November. Taking my time to make sure I get the right blend between the first and second drafts. A couple of things have happened in September which are pretty great. One is that I took a week straight break away from writing. Due to what was happening in my life, I was pretty lucky to be able to work on writing almost non-stop for the past few months. However, while I enjoyed that, I needed to take some time away. A week spending time enjoying other hobbies along with some intermittent breaks have done me well. The biggest thing to happen this month is that I have decided to take a hiatus from social media. Those of you who follow me may have seen the post. I just want to state again that I am perfectly fine mentally and physically. This hiatus is purely for my own good as social media has gotten a bit noisy. It’s all just ads, bots, and posts that go out into the void never to be seen by another person. Taking a step away to just enjoy life and focus on myself has been nice. I do miss the days when social media was social. I miss talking to people, starting random conversations about a topic we both enjoy, and such things like that. Now it just seems like its ads crammed down my throat along with bot after bot wanting me to share my post in a DM. Anyway, this is just a temporary hiatus…although it has been a rather enjoyable one. Work will continue for Celestial Saga IV. I have some things planned for the release of the book next year that I will see if I can pull off. Pending schedule and budget restraints of course. As far as numbers go, this was the most productive September I have had yet! Monthly Goal: 23,468/16,667 (140.8%) Yearly Goal: 256,964/200,000 (128.5%)

Hello everyone! As some of you may have noticed, I have not been posting much recently. This is because I have decided to take that break from social media I talked about and do something that I have never really done before...focus on myself! Already over the past month I have made great quality of life improvements and have a solid plan in place for the next year of my life. The grind of posting every day combined with constantly having to delete/block/report bot accounts/comments took a toll. I also keep getting emails intended for a different Alex O'Connor despite every page on my website indicating I am not the one they are looking for. In short, social media was just getting annoying. Rest assured, I am doing perfectly fine, I'd dare say better than I was, and I am continuing to write. I did take a little bit of a much needed break from that after going nearly non-stop for the past few months. Again, all part of finally taking care of myself and making a better life. I want to say that I am still supporting you all from the sidelines and wishing you all continued success! I have a lot of things planned for my writing and the next phase of the Celestial Saga. Some of those things I am also using this hiatus to work on. You'll still see me popping up in likes, some comments, and with my usual monthly writing progress update.
