I'm bothered that people are conflating someone's tweet distribution with their real-world labor. I assume @neeratanden and @mehdirhasan are doing substantial offline work to positively impact this election. Why elevate a streamer to the public sphere unnecessarily?
What I find meta about this whole discourse is @mehdirhasan attacking everyone for talking about a streamer in California when he constantly asks people about him and then pushes out the videos. I pointed this out in my conversation with him at Georgetown when he asked me about Piker. Seems kinda hypocritical
This is why scientific literacy matters, especially for journalists. ~31% of respondents listed the economy/inflation/cost of living as their "most important" issue, but that doesn't mean it's the only issue shaping their November vote.
People realize that "live by the sword, die by the sword" is just a more aggressive version of "you get what you give," right?
If @BulwarkOnline says @elonmusk deserves to be jailed, then his use of that phrase means he wishes the same fate on them.
Elon just casually threatening to kill the team at @BulwarkOnline. Typical Friday.
Clarification: @BulwarkOnline can likely lay out many reasons to jail @elonmusk. I know of nothing jail-worthy by the staff of The Bulwark.
The true danger of Musk's statement is the extralegal measures some may take to fulfill that wish.
If you want to call @hasanthehun just a Twitch streamer, then @piersmorgan is just a YouTube streamer.
How is it an "ambush" to show up to your own daily show as a named co-host? An ambush requires surprise. Tanden literally confirmed with MR producers on Tuesday that you'd both be on. Stepping away for a "lunch break" and then returning for post-show commentary doesn't add up.
Students pursuing social work and mental health counseling would likely lose access to loans. That's not to mention the many non-degree programs that train people for support positions (e.g., teaching aides, medical assistants, culinary, etc.) also falling short.
Unless there is a super PAC called "The U.S. Government," I could see staffers facing jail time and impeachment hearings for the president for such an ad.
Of course, that would only be true in the hypothetical world in which the federal government still followed the rule of law.
If you ignore genetics and basic metabolic biology, then sure, absolutely.
I understand criticizing the Army and the collaboration, but this underplays the situation.
It's not surprising for a talent agency to drop a client after they publish a video that intentionally inflames ongoing harassment.

Hello @TwitchSupport and @djclancy999.
What part of the TOS allows a partnered streamer to make death threats toward another partnered streamer and then post an edited version of the same stream with added screenshots to clarify that it was a death threat and not get banned?
After getting past the general absurdity of electing to be part of a nanny state (without even mentioning that ChatGPT uses consumer conversations for training data by default), these two get to the benefit of a well-regulated "always-on" digital assistant in the form of an LLM.
