I recently stumbled across a fabulous account over on Instagram called livinglondonhistory with small reels of history and places to discover. Below, two of the many little films you can find there. Enjoy!

I just felt maybe this is a moment when we should remind ourselves of what kind of Prime Minister Boris Johnson was.

Today, Labour voted to ban fracking once and for all. Tory MPs who voted down our ban have broken their promises to constituents. This is a government in chaos.

Britain had it all, man. A strong Pound, a seat at the table in Europe, a Special Relationship with the US, global respect and standing. Tories flushed it all away, courting UKIP/BNP policies to keep power. And it wrecked Britain.

So because a bunch of unelected right wing zealots trashed the economy, we’re back to austerity & all its miseries? Please RT if you want a general election now. – at Wheatley, England

Waiting in the twilight wings at the standing ovation curtain call last night, watching the guys take their bows singing a shanty song, I thought, I love them, their singing, their strength, their skill and humour. You gotta be like a Fisherman to do this show πŸ˜ƒ @FFonstage

A reminder that Jeremy Hunt, when Health Secretary, sold the state-owned NHS blood plasma supplier - Plasma Resources UK - to Bain Capital, a US company co-founded Mitt Romney, in a Β£230m deal. Bain Capital then sold it on to the Chinese Creat Group. For Β£820m.

Sport is about taking it on the chin, getting back on the horse or winning the ball back. You did the town proud. Come and tell the kids about it on a Sunday morning at Hartlepool Rover. WELL DONE.
I want to say a massive thank you to every one who came out to show support last, everyone who bought a ticket and everyone who tuned in to watch. I am eternally grateful ❀️. I am absolutely guttered I came up short last night against the better fighter

Sincerely hoping the @HpoolRovers Heughers lad injured is ok after game today Vs @billinghamrufc 3TM. But also good to play against a young scrum-half with a very familiar name & same heart of a lion expected from the Arnell clan. #rugbyvalues

This by @Freedland nails brilliantly how we got to where we are: a delusion of soverignty in an inter-connected world, which underpinned both the Brexit fantasy, and Truss and Kwarteng's false conviction that they could do what they liked. theguardian.com/commentisfre…
