El Dorado has boomtown history that can also attract tourists who are researching their DNA and families’ history. Promote roots tourism along with arts and entertainment for a win-win calculation. Roots tourism transforms and inspires.❤️ @ARGovCon @YourARHeritage

Really enjoyed @MicheleLShelton’s keynote this morning. Best one in years at #ARGovCon22, imo. Tourism leaders in Arkansas can leave feeling challenged to be open to change and growth. To feel challenged to reflect and innovate to attract and retain a diverse workforce.

Arkansas’s 2% Tourism Tax collections for March 2021 reflect a huge 78% increase over March 2020 collections with increases in 70 of 75 counties. But remarkably, March ‘21 collections exceeded March ‘19 collections (pre-pandemic!) by 14.6%. Arkansas tourism is coming back STRONG!
