Confronted on camera, the man offered a rapid-fire string of contradictory excuses: first claiming the truck was slated to be towed, then stating it belonged to a vague friend whose name he did not know, before finally arguing that because someone had previously stolen his own catalytic converter, he was simply harvesting an exhaust pipe from this truck as a replacement. ​When the officer informed the man he was being recorded and asked for identification, the suspect claimed he had none on him. Seconds later, he attempted to grab his tools, target-glanced toward his nearby vehicle, and tried to slip away toward his driver’s door. The officer moved in, issuing commands before going hands-on to prevent him from fleeing. With backup unit Boy 77 arriving and a taser drawn, the officer forced the suspect against the vehicle to secure him in handcuffs, at which point the man admitted his ID was in his pocket the entire time. ​Once physically restrained, the suspect launched into an unprovoked, high-energy tirade blending geopolitics and biblical prophecy. Insisting he was not a criminal, he warned the officers that "the Russians are coming for you," claimed God had personally instructed him to deliver a warning about an alliance between Russia and China targeting the West, and declared that America would burn like Babylonia. ​The on-scene investigation revealed this was not a first-time strike. Officers matched the damaged truck to a theft report filed just 24 hours earlier, confirming the same individual had hit the vehicle the previous day to rip off a front quarter panel and miscellaneous hardware. Returning to the scene the following afternoon to harvest more components, leaving the once-drivable truck on flat tires, the suspect had already loaded tools, stripped exhaust parts, and body panels into his own vehicle. Officers impounded his car pending a search warrant for stolen property and booked him on charges of theft and resisting arrest. Who wants to place a bet on if this guy is here legally or not.
