What if every time you think "that will never work," you replaced it with "what experiment could we run?" It could be the smallest / simplest test of whether the idea has any merit! I love this idea so much. youtube.com/watch?v=TsQ11lNi… @omillard @ASCatalano

Larger numbers of people say they don't want kids these days. "Experts" are noticing+become concerned that there will be no one to carry the labor in future economies. This is making the *LABOR* of parenting visible, because, essentially, future parents are threatening to strike.
In a new poll, a growing number of people who don't already have children say they do not expect to have them. Experts worry that the declining U.S. birthrate may have long-term implications for the economy. st.news/3FC0i8t

Internal complexity grows over time in most organisations. New projects add things to the system, not make them simpler. Maybe we need to build "subtractive change" (remove or stop doing things) into all our improvement work: organizationdesign.net/fight…. By @NicolayWorren #QITwitter

I'm retweeting the ten tweets I posted that got the most reaction during 2021. No.5, from October 2021, was about a movement-inspired definition of leadership from Marshall Ganz. We will need plenty of this kind of leadership in 2022. Graphic by @lizandmollie #AYearofTweets2021
Marshall Ganz, who is a massive influence on my practice as a leader of change, defines leadership as "taking on the responsibility of creating conditions that enable others to achieve a shared purpose in the face of uncertainty". This graphic by @lizandmollie reminded me of it

A powerful challenge to accepted definitions of "empathy" by @brenebrown. No, it isn't enough to "walk in your shoes". We need to learn to really listen to your story about what it's like in your shoes & believe you even if it doesn't match our own experiences. Via @anna_annabav
