Our team has confirmed Aptos is protected against this class of exploit by design.
Since launch, Aptos has disallowed publishing a module and executing a script against it in the same transaction, the exact condition required for the attack. This architectural difference means the vulnerability is not possible on Aptos.
We also maintain additional defense-in-depth controls (including paranoid mode) that further reduce risk even if a similar condition were introduced. The Move language itself remains secure when these safeguards are applied.
We're in standby and ready to provide any support if needed for the Move community.
to the best of our knowledge so far, this is a Day 0 bug related to Initia's MoveVM on CosmosSDK that allowed the exploiter to mint additional tokens on the Initia L1 but does not apply to native INIT tokens.
the attacker was able to mint and bridge out ~$2.7m worth of AUSD, ETH, and USDC before the chain was paused.

We're aware of the recent security incident affecting Initia, and we've confirmed that Aptos is not impacted.
more details coming soon.

pretty sure we've reached the point where S tier operators are realizing that it is far more efficient to drive value to your token rather than have an equity vehicle and pray for an acquisition / IPO - and so it makes way more sense to just "do the right thing"
creating internet capital markets and making every liquid fund's dream come true
My man Sasha . Hair little bit longer these days tho
Block-STM, developed by @AptosLabs researchers, has run parallel execution on Aptos since mainnet. Other chains build on it, and Block-STM v2 now runs by default on Aptos.
The idea: run transactions in parallel, redo only what conflicts.

Crypto in its value era, while AI is in its inflated token era.
Value tends to be where few are looking.
important milestone
excited for what’s ahead
The genesis unlock schedule for Aptos core contributors and investors concluded yesterday, October 12, 2026.
It ran for four years, exactly as published at mainnet launch. No core contributor or investor tokens from genesis are left to unlock.
Original schedule: aptosnetwork.com/currents/ap…
🧵 of folks in defense of @drakefjustin's view that classical attacks on deployed cryptography may be closer than any of us want to admit, due to accelerated AI progress
if you're building for world scale trading and payments use cases there is no better infra to do it on than aptos
smart contracts are meant to automate execution and aptos engineers just massively leveled up their speed and security for large scale enterprise and systems
🐐
Introducing MonoMove, Aptos' new execution engine and the biggest scalability upgrade in network history.
Moving global markets onchain takes a new standard of speed and safety. MonoMove delivers both, executing the smart contracts behind every onchain market up to 55x faster.
Money is moving onchain. Aptos has the engine to run it.
Compute is stateless. Data isn't.
The data layer shouldn't decide where your compute runs. @shelbyserves, now in Private Beta, is S3-compatible object storage for AI, agents, and distributed compute.

we've spent years stuck in crypto algo bubbles, optimizing for the most niche, risk on users and only showing up in other countries when a conference is in town
payments and tokenization require widescale adoption across everyday use cases
for crypto native infra companies, winning here means building deep trust with traditional businesses: proven engineering, security architecture, tight SLAs when something goes wrong, compliance failsafes, real account service
the era of hardcore enterprise sales GTM is here and the companies that build it into their culture will win

Contrarian opinion: While the current fear of AI ending the world is top of mind for everyone, I think a more near-term problem is the scapegoating AI agents for human failures. The headlines will come:
* Drone attack kills friendlies -> AI targeting failed
* Bad options trade costs firm billions -> AI made the wrong analysis
* Surgery goes wrong -> AI misidentified a tumor
* Company pays $50M to a fake vendor -> AI systems approved it
Humans are experts at avoiding accountability. And AI is imperfect in achieving its goals or even following them.
True accountability requires a tamper-resistant, verifiable record of the chain of events. The legal system does this through a lengthy discovery process from a blurry timeline, but agents and human interactions are all digital and can be inexpensively captured in real time with high precision.
AI capabilities and cost effectiveness are moving faster than any technology we have ever seen. New systems like JEV and rapid advancements in retaining model quality with dramatically less hardware are accelerating this challenge faster than our defenses.
Humans are responsible for their intentions and the authority they delegate. Agents implement and execute those intentions. And there is a gray area of human/AI interaction: when to involve a human, when a human has given permissions (e.g. one-shot or blanket), and how to retrace these interactions whether the outcomes are terrific or terrible.
What did the human ask for and approve?
What authority did the agent have?
What information did it receive?
What actions did it take?
When was a human involved?
Where did human language leave ambiguity that should have been clarified?
And can any of that history be altered after the fact?
Immutable ledgering, powerful auditing tools, and deeply integrated human/AI interaction are necessary for humanity to achieve its full potential. @Aptos @shelbyserves @DecibelTrade are all being built for this imminent reality.
Agents can already work the web we have: sites, APIs, checkout flows.
Onchain, the range widens. @AptosLabs' @AveryChing explores agents renting out idle GPU capacity, negotiating terms, and settling in stablecoins - among future use cases Aptos can support.

deleted instagram 8 years ago and never looked back
i deleted instagram about 5 years ago, so i had almost forgotten what it feels like to have it in your life
watching people around me use it now feels strange
you end up checking the daily lives of people you haven’t seen in ten years, people you probably wouldn’t even stop to talk to if you crossed them on the street.
random people from your past become permanent background characters in your mind.
then add the fact that a huge part of instagram is effectively a dating product
if you’re already in a long-term relationship, keeping that constant stream of attention, comparison and other people’s lives in your head has destroyed countless couples
after being off it for years, the whole thing looks much more extreme from the outside.
Aptos is almost 4 years old
The same themes that funded and informed its technology ~ 8 years ago at Meta are catching major macro tailwinds now
There is no need to pretend to be something other than what we always were
1) Open financial infrastructure capable of supporting the needs of billions of everyday users
2) Technology and engineering talent that billion dollar enterprises can trust to support their business
Having conviction on the most impactful things to do and making the tradeoffs necessary to win has never been clearer than it is now
