Fun fact about this episode: Nickelodeon originally believed this story held themes too dark and complex for children to grasp so they planned on shelving the episode. The creator of the show vehemently protested and Nickelodeon caved ultimately airing it as a Christmas special. It turned out to be one of the most critically acclaimed and memorable episodes of Hey Arnold’s entire run
