The_Atlantean

There were numerous sites worldwide that existed during the last Glacial maximum, the Bimini Road among them. Plato was highly descriptive when he talked about Atlantis, which is why modern day science has relegated to myth. There is a long list of criteria that has to be satisfied. I have crossed off all the ones that identify the island itself, based on its geography and topology, which in turn point to the location of the city. The city itself is the tricky part. According to the legend it was destroyed, and likely in its current 'state', its buried under sediment and in scattered ruins.

The Dialogue of Critias, Plato. In this excerpt, Critias describes ancient Greece during its war with the Atlanteans. 'Concerning the country [Greece], the Egyptian priests said what is not only probable but manifestly true, that the boundaries were in those days fixed by the Isthmus... Many great deluges have taken place during the nine thousand years, for that is the number of years that have elapsed since the time of which I am speaking; and during all this time and through so many changes, there has never been any considerable accumulation of the soil coming down from the mountains, as in other places, but the earth has fallen away all round and sunk out of sight. Even the remnant of Attika which now exists...small islands..are only the bones of the wasted body...all the richer and softer parts of the soil having fallen away, and the mere skeleton of the land being left.'

Arriving in Egypt, Pythagoras tried to become a student of the temple priests. He applied again and again, but he was told that unless he goes through a particular training of fasting and breathing, he wasn't even allowed to enter the school. Pythagoras is reported to have said... " I have come for knowledge, not any sort of discipline." But the school authorities said... " We cannot give you knowledge unless you are different. And really, we are not interested in knowledge at all, we are interested in actual experience. No knowledge is knowledge unless it is lived and experienced. So you will have to go on a 40-day fast, continuously breathing in a certain manner, with a certain awareness on certain points." After 40 days of fasting and breathing, aware and attentive, he was allowed entry. At Diospolis, Pythagoras said... "You are not allowing Pythagoras in. I am a different man, I am reborn. You were right and I was wrong because then my whole standpoint was intellectual. Through this purification, my center of being has changed. Before this training, I could only understand through the intellect, through the head. Now I can feel. Now 'truth' is not a concept to me, but a life."
