Trae is the ONLY Hawks player drafted to not miss significant time due to injuries or suspensions and that should be noted and applauded.... everyone else has missed a portion of 2 seasons...
Trae Young is the smallest of the group

Horrible showing from Karl Smesko tonight as well. Awful challenge decisions, horrible rotations, awful timeouts, and when your starting guard gets her head taken off, it’s NO excuse for you to not be knocking everything over, technical foul be damned

There's no way you watch that game, see that gameplan & tell me Karl put his team in the best position to win.
Yes, players shouldn't go barreling into defenders, dribbling into double teams & making terrible passes.
But his coaching philosophy puts them at a disadvantage against the Valks. Series not over yet, maybe he'll be forced to change, again.

If the coach is scared to take risks on his players then your players won’t take risks for you. How will they develop? You are burning out 7 players so ridiculous. Angel is not a God she’s human. Play 3 bigs two guards it’s so so simple.

I’ll leave this here. Reporters working with the dream please tell Karl to start Madina with Angel. Switch things up and let ALL of your players work through their mistakes. Play 3 bigs and 2 guards. Coach kill them in the paint! Simple rotations.

#Dream HC Karl Smesko on how much have Natalie Nakase’s starting lineup changes contributed to Atlanta’s offensive struggles, and what other factors have kept the team from finding its rhythm:
"I give them credit for playing good defense, they're known for their defense, and they've been playing great defense throughout the series. But I mean, I do want to have Angel [Reese] back here. Like, the contact they allow on Angel compared to everybody else is just ridiculous. Just ridiculous. And, we should have gone to the foul line six to eight more times just on that, and then to miss double dribbles and travels, multiple, that always led to points. ... You can't be at this level and make that many mistakes. So, there's things that are on us. Like, we're missing shots we should make, but at the same time, that needs to be a whole lot better than it was, and it's time that if you push somebody with two hands as they drive, it's got to be a foul. And, I'm kind of tired of some of the excuses that I'm hearing."

#Dream Angel Reese on finishing with eight shot attempts and how the Valkyries’ defense affected her opportunities, and how much did foul trouble disrupt her offensive rhythm:
"Honestly, I think for me, like, I'm still trying to figure out how to play through the physicality. I mean, a lot of us are getting fouled, and they're not calling it, or we're talking to the [referee] after, and they're saying, "Oh, we'll get you next time." So, it is a little frustrating, especially in the moment of it. I mean, I'm kind of used to it because this was happening throughout the [WNBA] season. So, I have to just continue to play through it. But honestly, for my teammates, when they're getting slapped to the ground or goggles knocked off, like it is frustrating and trying to keep them in and keep them confident. But yeah, we'll figure it out. We're gonna have to just continue to push through the physicality, and hopefully, it goes our way next game."

The Hawks are 2-2 as they return home for a B2B against MIA/CLE beginning on Wednesday.
Full breakdown coming on @LockedOnHawks, but the bottom fell out of ATL's offense in 2nd half.
Poor shooting plagued ATL in both games, losing both despite winning the possession battle.

Refs were bad but they missed calls on both sides. Hard to win games with 15 turnovers—shooting 29% from the floor and 23% from long distance

Angel Reese lit into the officiating after the Game 5 loss, criticizing the physicality the official have allowed since after Game 3:
“For me, like I'm still trying to figure out how to play through the physicality. I mean, a lot of us are getting fouled, and they're not calling you, or we're talking to the ref after, and they're saying, ‘Oh, we'll get you next time.’

Angel, naz, & bonner all struggling. I dont see them winning anymore. And its from their own mistakes. They look like high schoolers playing and karl & his staff look like high school coaches that dont know wtf theyre doing.

It’s bleak because of one person —Karl Smesko. His decison-making, game plans, willingness to burn out starters and refusal use the bench has handicapped the Dream.
They can’t fight the Valkyries, the Refs, and the Coach. 😪

Scary hours for the Atlanta Dream, who have watched a 2-1 series lead turn into a 3-2 deficit. 😬 The heartbeat of their two wins has been neutralized, and while Rhyne Howard has found her groove, Jordin Canada and Allisha Gray have continued to struggle throughout this series.
Things are looking bleak for an Atlanta team that has struggled to make the necessary adjustments.

Yall calling Natalie a defensive guru and the whole time it’s her telling her players to hold and hack while she whispers sweet nothings in the refs ears so they won’t call fouls on them.
