Remembering Jimmy Hanley on his birthday. He appeared in 1966/1967 as an old college friend of Meg's, Jimmy Gudgeon, who had become a somewhat professional painter but he had a habit of painting her portraits with less clothes and more front than Meg expected to be included.

As some have asked to hear for themselves, here’s one of the current restored optical soundtracks vs an unrestored magnetic source. I’ve not said which is which. You can decide.

Such a shame ATV and the original ITV / IBA / Franchises are all gone. It was a much better time in TV with quality of output. Thatcher ruined it all. I wish ITV would return to its former model with the IBA...and ATV had the best ident of them all...

There's two Crossroads links to the film, the first obviously Ronald Allen, but secondly the real liner used partly for scenes 'Largs Bay' was the ship James Gordon OBE (Noele's father) worked during the second world war.
The best Titanic film ever? We think so! A Night To Remember, starring Kenneth More, Ronald Allen, Robert Ayres & Honor Blackman, is now available on @TalkingPicsTV's catch up service. Missed on the channel? visit tptvencore.co.uk, 🔴Freeview82 or download the Encore app
