Pre-fight nerves? You don't have to. You get to. Nobody forced you into the cage. You chose it. You trained for it. This was Brazil. Thousands watching. A monster from Nova União waiting for me. I didn't have to walk out. I got to. What a life.

It caps off a great tournament for the @AVTMMA squad with 3 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes for the AVT athletes overall. Proud of everybody who competed! #mma #ukmma #immaf #amateurmma #avtmma

Incredible work from Mason Yarrow 🏹 5 wins in 6 days against some of the best fighters in Europe to claim the @immafed European Super Lightweight Gold. Hard graft and a dedication to work on all areas of his game saw him submit a solid BJJ brown belt in the final.

Four new @AVTMMA black belts were also minted today ⬛🟥⬛⬛⬛ Four very different grapplers, all excellent humans who represent AVT the right way on and off the mats. Ash Roden Niko Gjoka Andrew Morris Alex Thompson Plus 6 new blue belts who all earned their upgrades too!

First and foremost, it was a privilege to present our longtime friend and teammate Phil Ounsley’s family with his 3rd-degree black belt. Phil was part of AVT from the very beginning, and it meant a lot to award his final promotion to his family 🙏

An epic day at our annual @AVTMMA Christmas Kumite 🎄🥋 The perfect way to round off the competitive year in-house with some big belts handed out and the white belts battling it out. A proper AVT tradition. #bjj #ukbjj #bjjuk

Success at both ends of the spectrum at @empiregrappling yesterday! Top of the masters and top of the juniors. Whole @AVTMMA team smashing it and levelling up 📈 #bjj #ukbjj #bjjuk #bjjlife #brazilianjiujitsu #kidsbjj #bjjkids #mastersbjj #avtmma #morley #leeds

You'll never guess where I got the influence for the latest @AVTMMA kit 👀 #leeds #morley #lufc #leedslife #alaw #leedsunited #avtmma

Create problem-solvers, not clones. I love the fact that our fighters at @AVTMMA are all very different and you wouldn't be able to pick out a "style".

Off the top of my head I can think of at least half a dozen solid gyms in Yorkshire with guys that have come through the @AVTMMA ranks. Cool to see and even cooler to think about how many people it has helped 🙌

WHAT MAKES ME PROUD I love to see our @AVTMMA athletes go out and win but that isn’t what makes me proud of them. Winning doesn’t define their worth.
