On the back of recent reports via @theHSSIB hghlighting issues with #Insulin safety in hospitals? A national survey and a publication in @DiabeticMed "The absence of a national bedside inpatient #diabetes audit since 2019 represents a critical gap. Reinstating a national bedside audit and integrating service-level evaluation with patient-level outcomes should be prioritised to support safe, effective and equitable inpatient #diabetes care in England" 'Changing trends and variation in service delivery for inpatient diabetes care in England: A national survey' Via @GerryRaDrGMagic @PaulaJDSN @NHSGIRFT @BT1DUK @DiabetesUK @NHSEngland @kamleshkhunti onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

The NHS survived this year because staff absorbed the consequences of decisions they didn’t make, chaos they didn’t create. The blunt message from this year is the NHS is led by someone who isn’t clever enough, experienced enough and is too cocky by half. myemail.constantcontact.com/…

For the NHS, it’s another escalation in a destructive cycle brought about by an inexperienced health secretary, advised by people who want us to make the same mistakes they made 20 years ago. It’s time for a change. myemail.constantcontact.com/…

the Treasury has refused to fund the £1.2bn, estimated costs of redundancies. Without the concomitant savings in workforce costs, there’s no money to implement the Ten Year Plan… … plunging our NHS and its people into uncertainty, insecurity and anxiety myemail.constantcontact.com/…

I’m hearing @NHSE has pulled the plug on reorganisation as it can’t fund the redundancies . Ouch!

Please know that this is baseless scaremongering from Trump and RFK. There is no good scientific evidence linking paracetamol (Tylenol) to autism. A 2024 Swedish study of 2.4 million births found no relationship whatsoever between exposure to paracetamol in utero & subsequent autism, ADHD or intellectual disability. Likewise, there is no good evidence linking vaccines (of any kind) to autism. Spreading medical disinformation is a disgusting abuse of political power with dangerous real world consequences.

Early-stage type 1 diabetes... what is it? Type 1 diabetes doesn’t develop overnight. The immune attack on insulin-making cells happens gradually. We call this symptomless phase, before type 1 diabetes fully develops, early-stage type 1. There are 3 main stages. (1/2)

Diabetes can lead to sight loss — but screening helps protect your vision. People with diabetes are invited for regular eye checks to help spot problems early. Missed your last appointment? Contact your GP or local screening service. ➡️ nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/…

🌟 NEW: We're making it a criminal offence for people who are not qualified as a nurse to use the title and mislead the public. By protecting the title ‘nurse’ in law, we will help protect both patients and staff across the NHS. More details: gov.uk/government/news/fake-… #IND2025

The rise in GLP-1 use among young women raises concerns about contraceptive efficacy and potential pregnancy risks. Experts contend that certain GLP-1 agonists, specifically tirzepatide (Mounjaro), may decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, which can lead to unplanned pregnancies. What’s more, these medications haven’t been formally tested on pregnant women, so it’s unclear if the drugs could impact the fetus. ms.spr.ly/6016Srlls
