2027 AZ Compass guard Jimmie “Tripp” Haywood III found his rhythm early against Southeastern Prep at the Border League, finishing with 14 points to help AZ Compass secure the win.
Haywood got going from the perimeter and made Southeastern Prep account for him as a shooter. His ability to knock down shots opened up the floor for AZ Compass and gave the offense another scoring option throughout the game.
He stayed involved offensively and made the most of his opportunities when the ball came his way. The 14-point showing gave AZ Compass steady production from the backcourt without needing to dominate possessions.
Haywood’s performance showed the value he can bring as a perimeter scoring option. His early shot-making and overall offensive production made him an important piece of AZ Compass’ win over Southeastern Prep.

2027 NW Rotary guard Jimmie “Tripp” Haywood III delivered a strong all-around performance against Houston Hoops, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Haywood played with great feel, getting into the lane and making the right reads—whether dropping off passes to bigs or kicking out to open shooters. He made the extra pass and kept the offense flowing, including timely throw-ahead passes in transition. He created off the bounce to score at the rim and knocked down shots from beyond the arc, going 2-for-4 from three. He also rebounded well from the guard spot and was active defensively—getting in the passing lanes and holding his own on the ball. Haywood’s ability to impact the game in so many areas stood out.
