Turns out Governor Hobbs was right when she said Arizona voters wanted sanity over chaos.
After Hobbs vetoed every border bill put on her desk that would help keep our communities safe, Arizona Republicans sent the Secure the Border Act to the ballot and empowered voters to choose for themselves.
Ultimately, Arizona chose sanity over chaos at our southern border by passing Prop. 314.
Promises made. Promises kept.

🍀 From a nine-year-old farm kid to an Arizona senator, @TimDunn_AZ carries the lessons of 4-H with him.
For National 4-H Week, Senator Dunn joined 4-H ambassadors, members, families, volunteers, and educators yesterday to celebrate a program where kids raise animals, grow crops, and tackle projects that teach them responsibility and teamwork.
Those opportunities extend to science and technology, giving young people a chance to explore their interests and develop skills they can use throughout their lives.
Arizona’s Executive Tower also lit up green to mark the occasion. 💚
Head. Heart. Hands. Health. Thank you to everyone helping Arizona’s next generation put those values into practice!

Thanks for prioritizing Arizona, @epaleezeldin.
Arizona’s next wave of manufacturing jobs and business investment depends on solving a real challenge: how to keep growing while protecting the air our families breathe.
Senate President Warren Petersen, President Pro Tem T.J. Shope, Majority Whip Frank Carroll, and Congressman Andy Biggs joined EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin in Phoenix for a roundtable and press conference highlighting a locally developed solution, EPA’s proposed approval of Maricopa County’s Rule 204.
To build or expand, major industrial facilities in areas that don’t meet federal air quality standards must offset the additional pollution they would produce. That means securing real reductions in pollution elsewhere.
Rule 204 would provide another way to do that.
When fleet operators voluntarily replace older off-road engines or upgrade them with cleaner technology, their verified pollution reductions could become credits. New or expanding facilities could use those credits to meet their emissions requirements.
In everyday terms, cleaner equipment helps make room for new jobs and investment. Those reductions must be real, measurable, permanent, and enforceable. Clean air requirements still apply.
The proposal builds on EPA’s earlier proposed approval of Rule 205, which takes a similar approach with vehicle fleets.
TSMC, U-Haul, the Arizona Chamber, other business execs, county leaders, and representatives from the Governor’s Office joined the discussion about supporting economic opportunity while protecting public health.
This is federalism in action, with solutions developed here in Arizona and federal partners in the Trump Administration working with us to move them forward. Bipartisan cooperation can deliver practical results for the people we serve: room for businesses to grow, opportunities for workers, and protection for our air.

House & Senate Education Chairs Gress, Angius Welcome Regents’ Confirmation of Independent ASU Hockey Review
Board says review will examine what happened to Matthew Mayich and allow witnesses to participate confidentially
“The Board has confirmed that Chief Justice Bales will examine what happened to Matthew Mayich on August 20 and what happened afterward. That is what we asked for. Chief Justice Bales is highly respected, and we appreciate the Board of Regents and ASU giving him the independence and access he needs to get the facts.” -@MatthewGress, @AZHouseGOP Education Committee Chairman
“The confidentiality protections matter because players have said they are afraid of retaliation. They need to be able to tell Chief Justice Bales what they saw without worrying about the consequences. He should hear from everyone involved, get the information he needs, and determine what happened.” -@SenatorAngius, @AZSenateGOP Education Committee Chairman

🌱🌾 From the farm to the Capitol, Senator Tim Dunn is standing up for Arizona agriculture!
Congratulations to Senator @TimDunn_AZ on receiving the Arizona Cotton Growers Association’s 2026 J.S. Francis, Jr. Distinguished Public Service Award!
As a lifelong Yuma farmer, Senator Dunn knows what it takes to grow a crop in the desert, and what’s at stake when government gets it wrong. His work to protect agricultural water and represent rural communities reflects a commitment to the families who feed and fuel our state.
A well-deserved honor for a strong voice for Arizona agriculture!

Governor Hobbs said she needed federal guidance before deciding on education scholarships. That guidance arrived yesterday.
I led 35 Republican lawmakers in asking her to opt Arizona into the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit before the January 1, 2027 launch. Thirty states are already in. Arizona is not.
Scholarships could help with tutoring or disability services for students in public and private schools — at no anticipated cost to the state General Fund.
Families shouldn’t have to wait.

“Student-athletes should never have to choose between telling the truth and protecting their scholarship, roster spot, or playing time. If players fear retaliation for speaking about what happened to a teammate, the Regents need to act. They should protect these students and appoint an investigator who answers to the Board, not ASU.”

🚨House and Senate Education Chairs Call for Independent Investigation of ASU Hockey Workout
Chairman Gress and Chairman Angius ask Board of Regents for outside review after seven players dispute ASU’s account of August 20 workout
“Seven players who were on that field have raised serious questions that ASU’s own review does not answer. We need an independent investigation to determine whether ASU followed its own rules, who was responsible for protecting these athletes, and what happened when Matthew Mayich showed signs of distress. ASU should not be left to investigate its own conduct and decide whether anyone should be held accountable.” @AZHouseGOP Education Chairman @MatthewGress

State Land Oversight Committee to Examine State Trust Land Sales for Housing
September 29 hearing will examine legislative requirements, agency permitting delays, and residential development during severe housing shortage, among other issues
“During our sunset review, we heard about a backlog of more than 400 pending applications that was continuing to grow, with some applications sitting for more than two years without a final approval or denial on the merits,” said Senator @TimDunn_AZ, Senate Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Ad Hoc Committee. “This was one of the top concerns raised by stakeholders. Nearly every industry that does business with the Department and that generates revenue for the Trust reported negative experiences with the Department’s secret ‘A.S.A.P.’ process—where applications go in and, instead of being approved or denied on the merits, they get sidelined indefinitely under the guise of 'needing more information' when Department staff, the Governor, or her political allies have a different, predetermined vision for a parcel. This practice avoids appealable agency actions under Arizona Revised Statutes 37-133 and denies applicants' basic due process rights. It is unacceptable, unlawful, and must be addressed.”
“Arizona is in a housing crisis,” said Representative Gail Griffin, House Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Ad Hoc Committee. “In 2023, Arizona was more than 50,000 units short. Since then, the shortage has only grown while demand for new housing has remained steady, driving up housing costs for both renters and prospective buyers. The shortage is also delaying family formation, with fewer young people starting families because they cannot afford the cost of living or find an affordable starter home. The national average age for first-time home buyers is now 40 years old, the oldest on record. For someone taking out a 30-year mortgage at that age, that means making payments until age 70.”

🚨JLAC Chairman Gress, Co-Chairman Finchem Demand Accountability After HHS Calls Arizona’s Single Audit Response “Inadequate”
HHS official tells JLAC repeated delays are unacceptable as Arizona faces potential federal enforcement over delinquent audit
“The State has had years to get this problem under control, and at Monday’s hearing we heard directly from HHS that serious concerns remain. Deadlines have been missed, timelines have changed, and the federal government still does not have the timely information it needs to properly oversee these programs. My focus is on getting this fixed. The administration needs to provide a credible plan to get Arizona caught up and make sure this does not happen again. If we fail to do that, federal funding could be put at risk, and the Arizonans who depend on these programs should not have to pay the price for the State’s failure to meet basic federal accountability requirements.” -@AZHouseGOP Rep. @MatthewGress, JLAC Chairman
“Four consecutive missed deadlines require more than another promise that things will improve. HHS is asking for a credible timeline, discipline, and direct engagement. The Governor’s Office and the agencies responsible for these delays need to deliver. Arizona has to provide accurate financial information and meet the federal requirements that come with receiving these funds. Because of four years of mismanagement, Arizona will lose federal taxpayer dollars that would have benefitted Arizonans most in need.” -@AZSenateGOP Sen. @RealMarkFinchem , JLAC Co-Chairman

🚨NEW LAW GIVES MISSING CHILDREN A FIGHTING CHANCE TO COME HOME
“When a child goes missing, a family’s world stops. The search cannot wait,” said Senator @ShawnnaLMBolick, who sponsored SB 1416 to give communities a greater role in helping law enforcement bring missing children home safely.
The new law requires law enforcement to quickly share information about missing children through social media, agency websites, and the news media—putting more eyes on every search when every second matters.
