Being biracial means constantly experiencing Racial Imposter Syndrome: not good enough in either. But I try to be a bridge. #WOCAffirmation

A milestone worth celebrating: 49 women are set to serve in the #BCLeg 43rd Parliament, marking the first time in BC's history that more women than men will take their seat in the Legislative Chamber (also a first for a Canadian provincial legislature) #WomensHistoryMonth #BCpoli

Forced assimilation and abuse: How US boarding schools devastated Native American tribes apnews.com/article/indian-bo…

The Federal Indian Boarding School Era is one of the darkest chapters of American history. The trauma experienced in those institutions haunts our conscience to this very day.
Today, I'm in Arizona to issue a long overdue presidential apology for this era – and speak to how my Administration has worked to invest in Indian Country and our relationships with Tribal Nations, advance Tribal sovereignty and self-determination, respect Native cultures, and protect Indigenous sacred sites.
On my watch, we'll remain committed to ushering in a new era between our government and nation-to-nation relationships – one that is grounded in dignity and respect.
We must remember our full history, even when it's painful. That's what great nations do. And we are a great nation.

Learn about the Bryce Report, completed in 1907 by Dr. Peter Bryce. The report detailed poor health conditions and staggering death rates at residential schools. The gov’t did not close the Indian residential schools despite the Report and public outcry. definingmomentscanada.ca/bry…
I'm excited to support the work to identify systemic barriers experienced by Indigenous complainants and witnesses and propose solutions to establish and maintain culturally safe and trauma-informed regulatory processes.

Minnesota is now the third state in the nation that requires schools to offer all students free breakfast and lunch, regardless of their family income, behind California and Maine. Takes effect Monday, reports @edercampuzano. startribune.com/minnesota-go…

Today, I signed a bill into law providing free school breakfast and lunch for Minnesota students.
It’s a historic, bipartisan win that means no kid will go hungry at school – and that Minnesota is one step closer to being the best state in the county to grow up.
Diversifying legislatures is necessary. And the backlash is strong.

Here's my story on @melaniejmark 's resignation. “Women in question period get it worse than men, that’s the bottom line. The nastiness from white men in here is awful. I’ve put up with enough abuse in my life." #bcpoli

There’s no doubt about it: Minnesota is a better state because of our immigrant and refugee communities.
From Somalia to India, immigrants have come to MN from all over the world with many stories to share.
#ImmigrantHeritageMonth celebrates the joys and heritages of immigrants. No Minnesotan should be discriminated against because of the country they came from
