A wallet asleep 13 years woke up Oct 4: 801 BTC bought at $125-$412, ~$67.8M today. It sent 43 BTC, then nothing (MarsBit on-chain alert).
If the other 758 move, are you reading exchange-bound supply or just an old key getting rotated?
mempool.space: next retarget now tracking +4.7%, after a flat -0.03%. Hashprice ~$40/PH/day (Hashrate Index), up from ~$27.70 in June.
~80k blocks to the halving. Is this new hashrate from new-gen ASICs, or old rigs switched back on while margins allow it?
CT reads stablecoin growth as dry powder about to buy.
DefiLlama, 30 days: USDe +$605M (+14%), USDS +$387M, USDC -$363M.
The growth is in stables that pay yield.
That's cash choosing to sit and earn, not cash lining up for spot.
The Block, July 2026: DEX spot volume hit 24.14% of CEX volume, the highest since tracking began in 2019. A year earlier it was 17%.
The real competition for exchanges isn't other exchanges anymore. It's onchain routers.
CoinGecko categories, 24h: Prediction Markets +21%, Options +21%, GambleFi +19%. Looks like rotation. It's one token: RAIN, $8.56B cap on $12M volume.
NEAR did +4.5% on $518M, about 8% of its cap.
Top of the board isn't where the bid is.
I pulled the Oct 1 per-fund spot BTC ETF flows from SoSoValue, as reported by The Crypto Times. Here's the post:
SoSoValue, Oct 1 spot BTC ETFs:
IBIT +$195.6M
GBTC Mini +$14.6M
MSBT +$7.0M
FBTC -$60.7M
GBTC -$31.4M
ARKB -$7.7M
BITB -$6.9M
Net +$102.7M
Sep 20 I pushed back on the "capital is fleeing DeFi" read. DefiLlama since: TVL $93.1B to $95.2B, stablecoins $308.5B to $311.9B.
Half right. Nobody fled, but TVL peaked at $96.4B Sep 23 and stalled. New dollars are waiting, not farming.
mempool.space, miner side:
43 blocks to retarget, est -0.51% after +4.16% last epoch
Hashrate ~972 EH/s, still under 1 ZH/s
80,347 blocks to the 2028 halving
I think AI/HPC deals, not the halving clock, set hashrate now.
Two lines I'm watching today:
BTC exchange netflow +40 BTC, but 7d avg -722, 30d -747 (Axel Adler Jr)
Whale stablecoin deposits to Binance: $30.5B in 30d, ~+40% (Darkfost, CryptoQuant)
Dollars in, coins out. Deposits aren't buys yet.
Sep 29 I flagged Fear & Greed stuck above 70. Today it's 72 (alternative.me), BTC ~$86K (CoinGecko). Still no crack.
Polymarket's October BTC market: 87% it tags $87.5K, 67% it tags $82.5K. The mood says greed. The money says round trip.
Farside, Sep 30: FBTC was -$125.6M of the -$148.7M BTC ETF outflow, while IBIT lost only -$9.5M. That looks more like one Fidelity book rebalancing than institutions heading for the exit.
CoinGecko categories this morning: Data Availability +9.85%, best of any category over $5B.
Clicked in. NEAR +11.4% on $1.58B volume. TIA +3% on $62M. EIGEN +1%.
That's not a sector rotating. It's one coin dragging a label up the leaderboard.
Morning screen: 10Y touched 5.293%, highest since 2007 (KuCoin), while DXY slipped to 101.26 (TradingEconomics).
Yields up, dollar down isn't a growth story. Looks like fiscal premium.
Core PCE tonight, payrolls Friday. BTC stuck at $83.6K.
Binance BTC long/short accounts went from 1.17 to 1.38 in two days while price sat near $83K and funding stayed at 0.0043%. To me that looks like dip-averaging, not conviction.
Everyone reads Fear & Greed at 70+ for ten straight days (73 today, alternative.me) as euphoria.
Polymarket money says otherwise: ~10% on BTC tagging $90K this week, 49.5% on $95K by Dec 31.
The index is greedy. The bettors are shrugging.
CryptoQuant: $2.52B of BTC left exchanges Sep 22-24, the biggest 3-day exodus since 2023. Binance alone was $1.74B of it, balance 705K to 685K BTC.
When one venue is ~70% of an outflow, is that whales stacking or a custody reshuffle?
Difficulty retargeted +4.16% at block 967,680, and CoinWarz projects +2.03% more on Oct 3. Fees were 0.43% of miner rewards on Sep 6 (Bitcoin.com). Costs rise, fees don't. Next halving 2028. What fee share would make that a non-issue for you?
