Some Oakland airport janitors made over $200,000 in a year.
📰 The revelation came after accusations that managers were steering the most lucrative overtime shifts to favored workers, and that some employees were paying kickbacks to get them.
📰 A report prepared a Port of Oakland consultant upheld the favoritism allegation, but did not find credible evidence of kickbacks.
📰 It also found that the airport lacked a written procedure for allocating overtime shifts.
📰 Airport janitors were paid over $2 million in overtime annually for three straight years.
📰 The janitors' union, SEIU Local 1021, filed a grievance requesting compensation for the overlooked janitors and asking for the removal of the supervisors responsible.
📰 The airport says it i s facing a $47 million budget deficit.

All of these anti-Chan ads from wiener make me wanna vote for her. I had my GF check me for signs of a recent head trauma, all clear (she’s a nurse)
Wiener even sounds gross.
Why can’t he just affect the typical accent?

I've been stuck at this corner for over five minutes. No accident, just heavy traffic. It will only get worse with years of construction and more road closures beginning immediately after the November election. sfpuc.gov/irving-street-and-…
Why leave ourselves gridlocked with fewer options? Meanwhile, Muni is asking taxpayers for another bailout.
Where are the priorities?
A war against cars without providing reliable alternatives is a war against the working class and families.
I guess Bike Coalition doesn't care about anything but to punish drivers.
Vote YES on G. Share and Compromise. That's a fair share. SF can do better.

Think about your childhood, and how a little corner park like this with a basketball hoop and a swing set could be the best place on earth.
Now, look at what we leave our children.

In case you didn't know, the SF Bicycle Coalition is responsible for the permanent closure of the Great Highway.
Lucas Lux and his nonprofit executives are members of the Bike Coalition. They take turns to serve on City Hall's Bike Advisory Committee.
The Bike Advisory Committee gives bicycle activists access as insiders to influence SFMTA and other city agencies on transportation policies and projects. Pushing road closures using your tax dollars.

AGAIN? Start charging these morons for their rescues. I’ve taken my dogs to Fort Funston for YEARS and the cliffs are off limits. Why would you put your dog in this situation? Stay off the cliffs.
CLIFF RESCUE
At approximately 1300 hours today, San Francisco Fire Department responded to Fort Funston for a report of a dog that had gone over the cliff, with the dog's human companion following after it.
On arrival, crews confirmed one dog and one adult on the cliff side, in the shallower section of the cliffs just north of the hang glider deck.
While crews were setting up a rope rescue system, the human companion was able to make their way down to the beach below, though the route was dangerous. Neither the human companion nor the dog was injured.
Both the human companion and the dog were evaluated and found to be OK. The incident is now closed.

At $0.82 each, sending one oversized postcard to all 534,618 registered San Francisco voters would cost $438,386.76 in postage alone, excluding printing and design.
YES on G doesn't have that money.
Joel Engardio and his lobbyists were calculative and knew how difficult it would be for grassroots and neighbors to afford even one mailer in a citywide campaign.
Making the permanent closure a citywide vote was a strategic choice, no coincidence. Joel Engardio did what he did, knowing ordinary people have no money or connections.
Our YES on G volunteers will keep knocking on doors and reaching San Francisco voters, one conversation at a time.
Please help by displaying a YES on G window sign. Show your support and help to remind your neighbors that Prop G is on the November ballot. Dont be afraid. 🙏

I’m obsessed with truth. Telling people prop G will close Sunset Dunes park is misleading at best. It’s a classic compromise- open during the weekend, closed during the week. I don’t care if you support it or not, but dishonesty/omitting facts is not ok. @SusanDReynolds

Closing city roads creates gridlock elsewhere. Heading to Kaiser on Geary behind an ambulance carrying my family member, I knew every second mattered. When road closures cause traffic, it can become a matter of life and death. Selfish people don’t understand.

Yes On G had a great turnout today in the Excelsior. Lots of canvassing done.
Missed out? No problem. Another event is tomorrow:
Cayuga Playground, 301 Naglee St.
11-4pm
Come lit drop or canvass, or if you want a house sign we'll have plenty.
SEE YOU THEN
Damn. I knew Portola and Excelsior would be reasonable people and therefore Yes On G, but I had no idea the depth of support in the Outer Mission.
TONS of folks and merchants around Ocean supporting us. They know the damage done to working people who used Great Highway *multiple* times a day for their work --contractors, plumbers, etc-- and they've decided the compromise (road M-F, park Sat/Sun) makes good sense.
My voice is hoarse from saying 'thanks for your support' too often. I need a lozenge. You, on the other hand, can speak up by supporting the cause at: greathighwayforeveryone.com

A completely immorally surreal scene in Lyon: France 🇫🇷
A woman begs the rioters to put out the fire they set at the entrance to the building where children are trapped because the firefighters are blocked further down the street by barricades they erected. The protester tells her, "I don't give a damn, we're young, we want rights."

This is the Great Highway Compromise. 👇
Share access for everyone on weekdays.
20,000 daily commuters could use the Great Highway while cyclists used the bike lanes on both sides, and people walked their dogs and enjoyed ocean views from the elevated paved pathways. Weekends and holidays remain car-free for recreation. That's a fair share.
For years, people shared 2-mile Great Highway and made the compromise work.
The Sunset Dunes park is 50-acre, not 2-mile.
Why insist on absolutely no sharing and absolutely no compromise? There's enough room for everyone.
San Francisco can have both safe streets and great parks. SF can Compromise.
Vote YES on G.

If you were to look at a map of San Francisco, it’s easy to see that cutting off the only western traffic corridor that allows commuters to avoid Golden Gate Park would increase congestion.
Instead of spreading out traffic evenly the permanent closure of the Great Highway has created concentrated bottlenecks in other parks that have roads such as Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, and many across the city. A weekday compromise could help elevate congestion and increase overall walkability in one of the most park friendly cities in the US.
Replying to @behindthenet
Scott Wiener also passed SB 922 which allowed the road to park conversion work on the GH to move forward without a full Environmental Impact Report.
When you add that to the fact that the closure increased traffic in Golden Gate Park it makes you wonder how much the environment plays a role in the closure.
