JAPAN’s NHK suspends its emergency broadcasts to the Middle East
These Japanese-language emergency broadcasts were launched in response to the escalating situation in the Middle East and the blocking of the internet in Iran.
NHK stated that this decision was prompted by the restoration of international internet access in Iran, as well as the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' lowering of the alert level for several countries in the Middle East.
From its Yamata transmission station in Japan, NHK had been broadcasting an additional 3 hours and 50 minutes of content daily to the Middle East. This increased volume was straining the capacity of the Yamata transmission facility.
Regular broadcasts to the Middle East continue as before.

VK (Russia’s social media platform) says drones attacked its data center in Leningrad Oblast overnight on October 17–18, and that its services remain available.
In @ipinfo’s pings, about a third of the addresses on VK’s St Petersburg network that normally answer stopped answering from 04:00 Moscow time, and had not come back by 10:00.
A ping reply shows a server is on and reachable. VK's other main network didn’t change.
