“@Abstract team member who said 'something big is coming' 1~2 months before shutdown. Believers got a zero-reward sunset.”
Jul 29 DM from Daila: the next phase is finally starting, and those who stayed will be taken care of first.
x.com/PhanGu_/status/2107624…
Early Aug call with Daila and a senior exec (per Marcello): "something big is coming, V2 is almost done."
x.com/marcellovtv/status/210…
Late Aug call (per chesus): the team stayed off X on legal advice, the penguin branding was dropped since the brands are separate, and term sheets for a big deal were signed, pending announcement.
x.com/chesus/status/21053832…
In reality, two senior leads quit in August, the official account went quiet, and shutdown rumors spread.
Result: shutdown announced Oct 6, chain halts Dec 15, funds left on it are lost. No token, no rewards for XP, badges or streaming. No V2, no deal.
Red flags got plausible excuses and talk of a "next phase." No apology since. If Daila knew, users were deceived; if not, unverified claims were sold as fact. Don't trust Daila's "something big is coming" until confirmed.

@LucaNetz isn’t the only person to take on something he can’t handle and then walk away.
but abstract demanded so much loyalty and engagement for so long, only to treat the users who worked hardest to meet those expectations like trash.
this is a soft rug that deserves to go down in crypto history.
of course, he’s not the only one responsible. we also bear a lot of responsibility for trusting him. because almost all of us were skeptical of layer 2s but got involved anyway, trusting his ability to make it work.
the more you trusted luca netz and pudgy penguins, the more you probably lost, whether it was money or time.
luca netz’s statement says nothing about what users lost. it only talks about how much he and his company lost.
as if to mock all of this, the prices of solana:2zMMhcVQEXDtdE6vsFS7S7D5oUodfJHE8vd1gnBouauv and pudgy penguins will hold steady or rise for a while. they’ll manipulate the prices themselves, if only to show that the project is still going strong.
even so, people won’t trust him as much as they used to. trust is the lifeblood of a community based business. just watch.
i’ve seen how he treats loyal users.
return to pudgy penguins? i’m not going back.
P.S. the head of the project shouldn’t be saying things like “i lost money too.”
grow up.

First of all, congrats on Obsidian, Gucci and thanks for sharing this so openly. Reading your post made me want to write down some of my own thoughts too.
I also reached Obsidian this week, which made me think back to when I first found Abstract. When I got into crypto, I was just doing what a lot of people do: farming airdrops, checking Telegram and X every day, and looking for whatever was next. TGE and rewards were definitely part of what brought me here too. But somewhere along the way, that changed.
What really got me into Abstract was the whole idea of making Web3 feel more like Web2. AGW, Portal, the onboarding, the apps... it actually felt simple enough that I could imagine normal people using it without having to understand every little thing about crypto first. That was exciting to me.
I started trying more apps, making content, sharing things with the Korean community, and somehow Abstract became a pretty big part of my daily routine. Now there are apps like MOG, Cambria and Moody that I genuinely enjoy using, and along the way I’ve also met so many great people here. Friends, builders, creators and community members have all become part of what made Abstract feel like more than just another chain to me. That’s why I care so much about where the ecosystem goes from here.
Lately, though, I do feel like we’re missing a little bit of direction. I don’t expect the team to explain every single thing or drop some massive announcement every week. That’s not really what I’m asking for. I just want to know what the team is focused on now and what kind of Abstract we’re trying to build from here.
Of course XP and rewards matter. I came in with those expectations too. But over time, I realized what matters more is having apps people genuinely enjoy and an experience that makes them want to come back.
I want people outside our little bubble to find Abstract and stay because they like using it, not just because someone told them there might be an airdrop. I’ve already seen how good this place can feel when everyone is active, builders are shipping, and the community feels excited together. That’s probably why I want to see more of that again.
So no, this isn’t me saying I’m leaving. I’ll keep using Abstract. I’ll keep playing MOG and Cambria, using Moody, making content and spending time with the people I met here. I just hope we get a better sense of where we’re going next.
I still believe in what Abstract can become. I just want to feel that excitement about where we’re going again✳️
Today i hit Obsidian tier on @AbstractChain, i should probably be happy and feel accomplished, but honestly, i don’t.
Abstract has been really important to me, both for my growth in web3 and as a creator, and i’ll always be grateful to the green chain, but ngl, the last year hasn’t been great here, obviously the market plays a huge role in that, sometimes things go well, sometimes they don’t, that’s just how it is.
What actually worries me is seeing dev after dev leave the Abstract team, especially in the case of 0xBeans, co-founder of Frame, aka Abstract, the message this sends is just not a good one, o hate saying this, but right now the main reasons i still use Abstract are MoG/OCH and Cambria, there are other great dapps, i’m not denying that, but a lot of the ecosystem feels like it’s mostly built around farming rather than actually keeping users around.
Users have been drained, and the team, probably without realizing it, has supported builders who ended up leaving the chain at the first opportunity after extracting hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions, from users, Roachracing, Myriad, Multiplier, YGG, Duper and many others got badges, attention and support from the team, only to eventually bridge out, i don’t even want to make a whole list of all the promises that were made and never delivered, but there have been quite a few.
That being said, Abstract genuinely changed the way people interact with web3, especially normies. AGW and the Portal are perfect examples of that, i still think Abstract has a ton of potential and there’s obviously a lot that can still be built here, maybe if there had been proper DeFi from day one, things could have played out differently and Abstract could have attracted a much broader user base, but it didn’t happen and there’s no point looking back.
I just hope the team can give us some good signals about what’s coming in the near future, i’m not expecting everything to magically get fixed overnight, i’d just like to understand what the actual plan is and where the chain is heading.
Either way, it’s been a fun journey, and I’ll keep using Cambria and MoG like I always have, i’d use them even if they were on ApeChain or Cardano.
All i want is some clarity from the team about where Abstract is actually going next.

I Got Promoted to Abstract Quant!
My role just changed from Giga Chad to Quant.
When I saw the detailed requirements, I honestly thought, “Wow, this is going to be tough for me…”
To be real, I even convinced myself that reaching Obsidian would be really difficult…
But I got a surprise promotion and now the path to Obsidian is open!
I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing just stay consistent and keep pushing forward!
And to all my fellow Abstract members who have been running hard and loving this project together with me thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!
Moving forward, I’ll continue working hard to bring in new users, create good content, and stay active as a real user and consumer in the Abstract ecosystem.
I love Abstract so much 🥹

I attended @waifusweeper meetup.
The atmosphere was really nice. I could enjoy it comfortably, and it was great to meet @AbstractKoreaGG colleagues and chat with Korean users who are still active in @AbstractChain.
Unfortunately, I lost to dongduru in the tournament, but it was a really fun experience.
I felt that Waifusweeper was particularly more fun to watch compared to other games.
Holding the tournament in a 1 vs 1 format made me think about who would win faster, and it was another great opportunity to realize how well-made the game is.
I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future.
Thank you for organizing such a great event, @YGG_Play 😁
