We would warmly welcome the proscribing of the so called 'English Defence League' by the @ukhomeoffice. The Home Secretary @YvetteCooperMP is absolutely right in reviewing the status of this group & affiliates and we have listed some key facts showing how dangerous this group is to wider society. - In 2013, Tommy Robinson & EDL marchers inflamed tensions after the horrendous murder of Lee Rigby by extremists: theguardian.com/uk/video/201… - We know from our own work that the EDL have been involved in targeting British Muslims online: channel4.com/news/edl-anti-m… - Violence has been linked to EDL protests: bbc.com/news/uk-england-birm… - Former members/affiliates of the EDL have been jailed for trying to blow up mosques: web.archive.org/web/20121114… It is time for the EDL to be proscribed.
