When I lived in DC, I looked forward to reading her reviews. And I love that she recognized 2007 as one of the best years in film. I agree! RIP

Michael is more of a musical than most submissions that get in as “comedies” tbh
'Michael' Golden Globes submission as musical/comedy denied goldderby.com/film/2026/mich…
At the Michael Douglas marathon today at The Egyptian. I’m curious what 4 MD films others would have programmed?
If you have TCM, I strongly recommend watching this. A rare documentary I’ve seen twice. One of favorite films in recent years.
It goes beyond “what went wrong” with one of biggest bombs of all time
It’s a career retrospective of an underrated filmmaker
Philosophical too
From filmmaker David Kittredge, BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL ('25) delves into the chaotic production behind John Boorman's ambitious 1977 sequel, EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC.
See the TCM Premiere tonight with @benmank77 as part of our Films on Film series.

Love to see this! The Invite is - still - my #1 of the year
Olivia Wilde could make Oscars history as the first woman to direct herself to an acting nomination for “The Invite.”
The movie is quickly emerging as A24’s strongest awards bet of the season, with general audiences turning out and industry voters continuing to pack awards screenings.

According to this mouse, don’t count Digger out this awards season!
Totally agree! @firstshowing
I saw this at @BeyondFest last year and it was easily one of the best films I saw in 2025
How it feels trying to get out of the parking lot next to the Director’s Village when attending @BeyondFest
Melissa McCarthy says the entertainment industry “doesn’t respect comedy”:
"I don’t know when that became the thing to do — and you can call any project a comedy to get into an awards category. Anybody just gets to claim it, because no real comedies are ever going to get awarded. I’m stopped 15 times a day by somebody who says, 'I desperately need you to do another comedy.' And I’m like, 'We are trying. I’m trying!' And people need it, that’s for sure."

Should add 9 to 5 to the mix. It’s great to see with an audience
Two of Dolly Parton’s most beloved films, “Steel Magnolias” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” are returning to the big screen following the country music icon’s death on Tuesday.

Me when I found out the news :(
She’s was my dad’s favorite singer, star of one of my favorite films, ally, humanitarian and more.
I’ll always remember you each time I stumble out of bed and more myself a cup of ambition
Random fun fact - Speed sells out at Vidiots faster than a Nolan film at Universal City Walk!
Probably because it’s such an LA film.
Eagle Rock also loves Keanu too because Point Break tends to sell out also.
I love that The Invite is the box office top 10 in only 28 theaters!
It’s easily my favorite film of the year!
I don’t think I’ve seen a year with so many lock step Oscar predictions. Kind of makes sense given the number of sweepers this year (at least in the crafts)
Seems like that means we’ll see some Alice in Wonderland, Fantastic Beasts, Lincoln/All Quiet in Prod Design type wins
