L&I announced the launch of a new program through @PA_OVR to empower Pennsylvanians with disabilities currently earning a sub-minimum wage transition to competitive, integrated employment. With $14 million federal funding, the Integrated Vocational Engagement & Support Team (InVEST) program supports career growth for all. @sheetz is the first InVEST employer in Pennsylvania and plans to hire 10 individuals annually. Job coaches funded by OVR will support new on-site employees and develop accommodations. @Achieva will provide crucial training and resources to ensure the success of the participants at Sheetz. KenCrest and @cisworks will provide the same to a site being established in the Philadelphia Metro Area. Read more: pa.gov/en/agencies/dli/newsr…

Pa. human service officials say budget proposal will eliminate wait list for disability services

Gov. Josh Shapiro has said he wants to eliminate the waiting list, and has proposed putting an additional $483 million in federal and state funds to do so into this year’s budget.
