One thing I've learned today is that a LOT of Airbnb hosts haven't realized they have competition outside of Airbnb.
Are you guys trying to speed-run your airbnb hospitality businesses into the ground or what? A lot of us already book less with airbnb because of hosts like you and the fear of a bad review.
Running the dishwasher and taking the trash out isn't hard. It's the courteous thing to do. Neither is allowed under this change. FWIW, running the dishwasher is so it's finished by the time the cleaners arrive and they can put things away. Don't be upset when you can't check in early, when there are clean dishes in the dishwasher the next time you stay somewhere, or when the cleaning fee (now part of the total cost) goes up because of this.
A LOT of people use airbnb for 1 to 2 day rentals in some places - i should know, i am one of them. In some cities, this makes a lot of sense. These small cleaning tasks that change for every flat drive us insane - the last 3 places i was at required taking out the trash, to a different city block! Thats super fun to do on the way to the airport. This is one of many reasons why people switch back from airbnb to regular hotels.
I own an Airbnb cleaning business. This was the best possible outcome for me and the worst possible outcome for guests and hosts
The fewer things a host can ask a guest to do, the more they will ask us to do and the more we will charge for a cleaning fee. That cleaning fee will continue to get pushed onto the guests which raises the cost of every booking. Or, the host will eat the increased cost we give them and their profitability will decrease
Guests pay more, hosts pay more, cleaning companies make more
Lose, lose, win
Rookie numbers, try anything through frankfurt😂
Wow @AmericanAir changed our terminal at DFW from D to C with an hour to boarding - C terminal is now a satellite and a 15-20 minute journey from terminal D. Furthermore they started boarding early so I got to the gate 4 minutes after my boarding time to a final boarding call. Unacceptable for a commuter flight.
At least 5 years too late. A lot of us long term travelers stopped using them, or cut back a lot, ages ago because of the constant annoyance of changing rules for each place.
One @Airbnb in Colombia said we could only use the washing machine once... for 2 people... for 2 weeks. And they tracked it via the wifi connection to the washing machine lol. Thats also where people tried to break-in while we were there... good times.
When you say "yes" to the adventure and end up in a foreign country village celebration that changes your life 😂
Doesnt matter if the city is all euros, i met only like 5 people from portugal when i was there - felt like a coffee shop for german tech workers, but the whole city. Sad i missed it before the boom(
I must imagine a little, but, i believe once you live a truly full life, one you can be proud for having lived, i dont think you fear death, but i also dont think you welcome it, barring extreme pain.

Cancel culture is alive and well, but, at Corgi, we have thick skin and believe strongly in freedom of expression.
For those who don’t know us, Corgi is an increasingly diversified financial institution, best known for our insurance products and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue more quickly than any other financial services company before us.
Our approach is simple: find parts of financial services that are slow, expensive, manual, or broken, and use technology to make them faster, better, and cheaper, while protecting people and companies when things go wrong. While it’s easy to focus on our (comparably small, our marketing team is around ~10 people) marketing efforts, the entire team consists of real heroes that have allowed us to scale faster than any other financial services company in history by offering good products that save people money, save them time, and protect them when things go wrong.
If I’ve learned one thing about startups, it’s that VCs and very online figures care mostly about press and social media. However, real hackers and builders care about making a durable business, and that’s what we’re doing at Corgi. And to all the people trying constantly to get me to fire our team members for expressing themselves online: it’s not going to happen, and no, there aren’t KPIs tied to social media presence at corgi currently, we just haven’t censored our team historically nor are we going to start now. It’s a great thing that our team consists of culturally important figures who share their opinions, and companies would generally be more ambitious if they did not attempt to censor their team and revert to corporate slop.
