Stay safe in icy conditions! Hitting the road? Slow down, maintain extra distance between vehicles, and give crews the space they need to work. Also watch out for any fallen branches, trees, and powerlines. Latest road conditions: 511.idaho.gov

Our crews are working around the clock to clear snow and ice. Sometimes however, roads need to be closed. We do this when the conditions are no longer safe for our own crews to be out. Make sure you check the road conditions in your area on Idaho 511 before heading out today.

If you have to be on the roads, be sure to plan ahead and take your time. Let’s all get home safely.

Drivers should expect snowy and slippery roads for the rest of the day, as the temp isn't expected to get more than a degree or two over freezing. So please give yourself some extra time to get where you are going — and pack some extra patience if possible.

Drive safely out there and take your time!
Just an FYI for drivers getting ready to go out this morning. Most of Ada County is covered in dense fog, from Boise west to Ontario, with visibility of a 1/4 mile or less. So driving will likely be slow going until late this morning.

Please plan some extra commute time and drive to what the conditions allow this afternoon. We want everyone to make it home safe and sound.
The first significant snowfall of the season (1.5 inches measured at the Boise Airport) resulted in a slippery commute in Ada County this morning. As of 11 a.m., dispatch received reports of 59 traffic crashes and 22 slide-offs since midnight. More snow is possible this afternoon
