Watch this, please. What a remarkable, courageous, and kind person. His admiration for the unarmed teacher who took on the shooter shines through. Please pray for him. He's carrying a lot -- there is such a cost to taking a life, even when it's necessary.
Bend, Oregon man who shot and killed a shooter at his daughters' school speaks out, praises female teacher for fighting the shooter, allowing him to have a clear shot.
Kaylub Giamanco says he is haunted by the sound of children pleading for their lives.
He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter.
"I want to recognize [the teacher]. She gave me the opportunity to make my shot without losing my life..."
"I swung the door open, and I stepped in, and I fired, and they dropped to the ground... I looked down at the gunman, and he was scrambling for his weapon. And I looked at him, and I shot him 2 more times..."

Astonishing.
I've been tracking Trump admin corruption and self-dealing for the last 20 months.
Here are 10 stories (!!!) from just the last three weeks.
Literally. Every single one from October.

Thank you @DavidAFrench for the shoutout in the Times today.
It's true that my piece from May on the corruption and self-dealing is already out of date.
Which is why Part 2 is being published tomorrow morning.
It's unfathomable what has taken place in the past 5 months.

Democrats need McCain-Romney Republicans. To make its impending victory last, my party should look to the center, not move further left, writes @RahmEmanuel

That Mr. French has debated me twice is "pure fiction." Also, he has lifted humorlessness into an art form, bringing a level of dedication to it that is genuinely impressive. Sad!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
David French and Eric Metaxas participated in two public debates in 2020: one at the Q Virtual Summit in April and another at John Brown University in October on whether Christians should vote for Trump:

Unlike Vivek, Trump has zero plausible deniability. It's been days, so we know Acton's story is far more credible, that her mom's husband probably abused her, and that the mom abandoned her children and hasn't spoken to her daughter in decades. Supporting this now is grotesque.
President Trump strongly defends Vivek Ramaswamy’s ad featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mom. Trump: “That took a lot of courage to do but, essentially, what she was really doing was saving Ohio from making a truly horrible choice! The Press is trying to convince everyone that this Ad is bad, because it’s so good! Who wouldn’t use such an Ad? I would, it’s called, ‘hitting pay dirt.’”

POTUS continues to pretend that Ukraine’s new (!!!) strategy of attacking Russian oil refineries is responsible for two straight years of elevated energy prices that spiked after he launched a war on Iran. To assume we’re all this stupid should be offensive.
Trump: My decision on Russia is a very simple one. I don't want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table.
Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing.
Zelenskyy is using Diesel Refineries in Russia as a target, knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States.
Farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are suffering greatly from this, but Russia is, nevertheless, sending, at a low price, millions of barrels of diesel to the World.
Zelenskyy doesn't care, and frankly, with all of the money that Europe is famously giving him, and that Crooked Joe Biden gave him in the past, he doesn't want to end this war, and probably never did.
He could have made a better deal two years ago than he can now. His country is in shambles, a large portion of his land is lost, his oceans and seas are gone, and his male population is low, wounded, and/or dead. I WANT THIS WAR END!

Israeli terrorists continue to attack Palestinians and the press in the West Bank. Daily stuff. The U.S. and Israeli govt, and especially @GovMikeHuckabee, do nothing to address this. Totally freaking insane.
Replying to @infinite_jaz
This video captures settlers beating Heidi. They clubbed her, kicked her. Pulled her up off the ground to beat her more. Robbed her of all her equipment. If she didn’t have a helmet—and if she was Palestinian—she could be dead.

The hacks in this administration—and their apologists on social media—told us Trump would pay down the debt. Instead, he’s taking it to new heights via waste, corruption, and his unconstitutional war in Iran.
Americans are paying the price.

Pathetic. Of course we waived sanctions. The Republican Party has become a Vichy party. It's the party of appeasement and weakness.

Pete Hegseth and every politically active conservative pastor has been parading around claiming it’s biblically justified to put the death of a man in public spaces where children could watch and see. For all of them, imagine how little their moral foundation is if a man, like Trump, has stepped in to do the actual moral thing of cancelling any live-streaming of the execution. American evangelicalism is in a bad place.

Econ 101.
Trump’s tariffs raised prices on more than imports. New York Fed researchers found they also pushed up the cost of American-made goods.

Once you see that most of the attacks on Tim Keller are about keeping people away from the gospel and, instead, focused on worldly politics, you can’t really unsee it. Go scroll Tim’s old Twitter account and compare the number of tweets about the gospel to those of his critics.

Refreshing to see corruption in gov the #1 concern for voters. I've been saying for a while that Trump's fate will be like Orban's: His nationalist rhetoric is resonant, but his comical corruption will cost him. It's been unlike anything we've ever seen, and it gets worse daily.
