We're in an ongoing, unchecked airborne pandemic. COVID is not over or mild. Every single person is highly vulnerable to Long COVID / PASC. Wear an N95 always.

Getting on the road for a month-long COVID-safe road trip across the US and back. Be back in November! Excited to miss the discourse!

Gaffney is the right winger insisting there's a debate on whether or not climate change is real and manmade; the liberal Zionist insisting there's a debate on whether or not Israel is committing genocide. Like those subjects, there's no debate - Long COVID is real.
Bizarrely, there's been almost no discussion about the real medical debate underlying the COVID hullabaloo at the bar in Western Massachusetts. Stated plainly: some researchers made extraordinary claims about the sequelae of mild respiratory infections from SARS-CoV-2, which ...

Just post the libertarian flag and be done with it.

bluntly though, you just can’t take away people’s freedom like that though. people are going to want to scream at concerts and/or hang out with all of their friends and/or fuck a lot and/or slobber all over the communion chalice, and they will get really mad if they can’t and

Weird how it's always the living wondering if we should have done less. Maybe we should ask the dead if we should have done more?

they’re not wrong to. the aftermath of COVID restrictions was a tremendous and unprecedented social disaster to the extent that i am not sure that the restrictionism was worth it, even with the lives saved (not even sure how many lives *were* saved). there has to be an option C

Permanent COVID caution is more sustainable than repeatedly getting infected by COVID.

It's harder to maintain a semblance of a "normal" life with Long COVID than it is wearing an N95.

Idk, someone who was once maimed by an infection using her platform to spread anti-science lies in an attempt to convince society that the hundreds of millions maimed by a pandemic are faking it gives it a run for it's money.
nothing more off-putting than clinging to the underdog schtick when you're Earth's most famous person with $2 billion to your name

Good luck compromising with a virus.
Surely East Asian masking rules - no mask when not sick, mask when sick - is like, a broadly acceptable compromise one would think

A reminder that @nataliesurely lost two years of her life to post-bacterial illness, and wrote about the isolation, stigma, lack of support, and importance of masking. The fact that she now uses her platform to discredit Long COVID patients and disease control is reprehensible.
anyway, demands for eternal public masking aren't actually about disability justice — they're about coercing people into accepting an erroneous causal link between mild infection and permanent disability. I wrote this four years ago & stand by every word: newrepublic.com/article/1689…

If you think protecting yourself from one of the worst viruses in history is extreme, you've been successfully propagandized against your own life.
The Boston Globe lesbian bar story is indeed fascinating, but I'm curious if there's been a more general, comprehensive account of how and why masking and extreme Covid caution became so entrenched in certain types of far left spaces.

You're doing the right thing if you're wearing an N95. You're doing the wrong thing if you're not. It's not a complicated issue.

The left - "The government lies about everything to uphold the interests of Capital and Empire. How do liberals not see it?" Also the left - "COVID is over. Joe Biden and Donald Trump said so."
The CDC raised its benchmark for levels of the Covid virus in wastewater, adjusting a key metric for assessing the disease’s transmission. As a result, officials may now classify a level that once counted as high transmission as moderate instead. nbcnews.com/data-graphics/cd…

Three years ago, support of 🇵🇸 was not popular. It happened b/c media & govt’s could no longer control the narrative. It’s your job on the left to question what the capitalist ruling class & their media buddies deem “good” & “normal” - not to uncritically accept their messaging.

It's not always a surge, but dropping masking when it's not a surge is what brings the next surge. This is basic cause and effect.
Serious question, is it ever *not* a surge for the Covid-forever people? Like have they ever once said “yeah I’m a little miffed but at least there’s no surge right now so it could be worse”

Masks are a reminder to Western leftists that they're ultimately not that serious. That's why they get angry about it all the time.

Weird how people have the time to read that dog shit Boston Globe article but have had zero time to look up any facts about COVID in 6.5 years. It's almost as if the ignorance is willful!

The FDA has announced a recall of salted caramel ice cream due to possible contamination with "small stones and other hard objects."
