One of the stupidest and longest threads I ever had the opportunity to march on until the person got cornered.
I would love to see how those people complaining about the woman in the plane screaming (while giving info about her incoming death) would react in the very same situation: diving straight to the ground knowing you’ll perish within seconds.
Would they even push the radio button and tell important info or scream and faint before touching the ground? No one knows
It’s confirmed—the plane was a lawn dart. No amount of checklisting was going to save them. My take is that the PIC and First Lady Officer knew immediately and unmistakably when they were turned into a lawn dart. Did they hear it break off? Unsure. Did they feel the loss of control after it broke off? Absolutely. Between what they might have heard and what they absolutely felt in the control stick they knew immediately and confirmed once the plane was in the over speed condition. At that moment checklists are useless. They accepted their fates. You heard the PIC utter the Lord’s Prayer and the copilot gave as much info to ATC as she could for the investigation before striking the ground.
From a safety perspective going forward here is my takeaway as an air traffic control specialist:
1) Controllers must call the weather. I’m not sure why the Miami controller didn’t say anything. It should have been called to them again
Pilots:
1) Plus or minus 700ft and unable to maintain altitude is Severe turbulence NOT mod chop. Climbing out of that in icing conditions is unlikely. Going around or staying high until the other side of the convective activity is the best bet
2) To that point TMU reroutes, which we have to give, routinely put you through weather. Make it make sense—I know. We get as frustrated as you do. You do not have to accept those reroutes as PIC.
3) If you have lost your elevator due to turbulence and you are a lawn dart, I’m not going to criticize you if you scream in terror. I believe if ever a scream were justified that would be it. Heck, maybe even key up and tell your family you love them or give a hallelujah to God.
So in Scotland and Northern Ireland the real crime is a face-sitting video, but those other things are ok? Why did they get the “special treatment”?

Imagens de uma câmera de segurança mostram o instante em que Renata Rebeca dos Santos, de 26 anos, caiu do sétimo andar do Rio Poty Hotel, localizado na Ponta d’Areia, em São Luís. A jovem morreu na madrugada desta terça-feira (3).
Nas imagens, Renata aparece caminhando pelo corredor ao lado do namorado e parando perto de uma janela. Poucos segundos depois, ela se inclina para trás, as pernas se levantam e ela some pela abertura.
O namorado continua parado ao lado da janela por alguns segundos, aparentemente em estado de choque, e em seguida se agacha para olhar para baixo. Logo depois, um homem de camisa azul surge no corredor, é informado do que aconteceu e faz ligações pelo celular.
A Polícia Civil trabalha com a hipótese de queda acidental e investiga se havia algum dano estrutural na janela. O namorado de Renata foi ouvido pelos policiais e liberado em seguida.
