Real argument in a teacher focus group this week: should AI be the one critiquing student work?
One teacher: yes, kids need to build resilience to feedback. Another: criticism only counts if it comes from a person.
I genuinely don't know!
Heading to Athens next week for Holtzbrinck's Innovation Days...and the keynote is Jonathan Knight, who runs games at the NYT. Games! At a publishing event. Kind of love that.
Funny week...a teammate and I each built a people/projects tracker from the same spec, without talking to each other. Nearly the same thing. Hers had the better design, mine had a few extra views. So now we merge them.
Some costs I can name... we did the same work twice, and now there's a merge nobody planned. I only half understand code I didn't write line by line. And every build is a pile of compute I never see. I don't know what that adds up to. Honestly, I haven't looked.
