@DrJoGrady at #Lab24. Post-compulsory education needs investment now - but it also needs an optimistic and inspiring vision of how education can change lives and transform communities. Thanks to @ucu for supporting this work - and to co-authors @john_holford and @eddieplayfair

Three years ago 137 leading figures signed a letter to @dailytelegraph on why #AdultEducation really matters. Still valid. But #election #manifestos all ignore it. #ThinkAgain @UKLabour @Conservatives @TheGreenParty @LibDems @dannydorling @jonathan_michie cradall.org/content/letter-p…
Considering how many reports & commissions have pointed out the importance of #LifelongLearning in recent years, why so very little (=0?) about it in the #Manifestoes? @UKLabour @Conservatives @LibDems @TheGreenParty @Lifelong_Ed @right2_learn @WEAadulted @FENews @GuardianEdu

Loneliness is an epidemic harming the mental health of many.
What’s the cure? Community education.
But will the future government think beyond skills for work, when investing in education?
Why not ask the candidates knocking at your door? thewea.info/HEY

Maybe we missed how your party plans to invest in community-based adult education that can reach learners that traditional education cannot?
Tell us about your plans if you are.
Or find out why it's important not to forget about learners like ours. thewea.info/HEY
