Don't expect your freshman year roommate(s) to be your best friend. You'll most likely find that person as you get involved in your classes.

There is much talk about academic scholarships for university students, but did you also know there are scholarships available for students headed to trade schools?
High school students: What are you doing this summer? How about getting involved w a good community service project? #collegeplanning

Get help when you need it. Talk to your professor, advisor, or counselor. @stayinschool
Rent your textbooks instead of buying them.
With only a 10% chance of getting your application accepted, private scholarships can be a real challenge to many students. Persevere. They're worth it. #collegeprep
Want to save money in college and not add to your student loan? Don't drop any classes. If you fall behind, get help. 8:00 AM class? Too bad. Gut it out. Retaking a class almost always costs you a lot more money.

Kristina Ferrera joined the #WJBES leadership team in December. She is a dedicated, hands-on administrator with a creative side that has made her a great addition to the #BryanLion community. We appreciate all that she does for faculty, staff, and students! #NAPW 💙🦁💛🦁💙 – at North Miami, FL
Most of the student loan debt is held by households with graduate degrees. Going back to grad school? Be mindful of the cost and where you want to go.
Student loan forgiveness is tricky, but possible. Below is a good list of option: studentloanhero.com/featured…
#College students shouldn't be cheap.... get the textbooks. You can rent them now for a lot less money. Bring the book to class. Let the professor see you have it. It's a big deal.

If possible, students should avoid having a car on campus. Find a job on, or just off campus. Also, make sure the #university has a decent public transport system. Just another way to save money and minimize debt.

It's sad to see so many students oblivious to what their student loan obligation will be. The lesson will be learned too late. 😟

Rich or poor, scholarships are there for the taking.
I think the biggest challenge facing first generation college students is that they don't..or won't ...get help when they need it. Not sure why.
More losers than winners. Not ideal to stimulate lifelong learning and friendships. #graduationrates
Low graduation rates are not good on many levels. Aside from the obvious- people not graduating-- it also shows that students are dropping classes and not doing what it takes to be successful.

College Hack: Sit near the front of the class and always laugh at your professor's jokes. #collegesuccess
