Still couldn't think of the names I meant I see so you attempt to make out I'm not working on my game, like I do everyday.
Allow me to educate you.
William Higinbotham should be on that list and Ralph Baer, if you don't know who they are without using Google, you should take some time to look into the origins of gaming instead of creating rage bait tier posts.
I thought you was open to intelligent conversation and discussion, that sometimes requires to learn something new and to take criticism.
I work hard on my game and have been pumping out patches because I can take criticism and turn it into a positive.
But since you want to talk about making great games, perhaps you should show us what you are capable of instead of a game that could be made in an afternoon.
No hate on small arcade style games, after all it's where I started and where games began. But if you want to babble about making great games, lead by example and show us that you can make a great example as a developer, not a critic.
Back to making my crappy game for me apparently. ๐๐
Also it took me seconds to write that reply half asleep, not exactly using much effort or time.๐
Game design is a balancing act, you're making games for people of different skill sets and taste, but I am listening.
First enemies were too tanky, then they were too easy, now I'm trying to get them just right!
Working on now:
- Less stagger for enemies
- Nerfing knife
- More health for some enemies
- More places to find ammo
- Less rain and reflection!
- Lights added to notepads
- More enemies
- Better controller support
And more! ๐๐

When I started this, I was hoping for 10k wishlists at launch. Now during Next Fest I have gone over that with 10650+ with the pre alpha demo!
Thank you to everyone that can see the vision and has shown interest in the project. Over 4000 have claimed the demo and over 2000 have played it during the fest so far!
There is still time on the clock to play it and get a small taste of what is to come with the 80s slasher camp survival horror. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐
A few patches have been made already based on your feedback including a whole new DX11 compatibility mode so more players can join in, with more fixes being worked on.
Thank you campers ๐ค
Did anyone find the graveyard? ๐๐ชฆ
At first I thought releasing a pre alpha as a demo was a bad idea, first impressions are important, but after seeing all of the positive responses in the comments I feel differently.
If people are able to enjoy it at such an early stage it does give me hope for the full release.
I know some people don't understand what a pre alpha means and will just take it as a demo but I am grateful to those able to see what is being made and accept it's early days, thank you! ๐๐ค
I took a risk.
I knew the demo had bugs, I knew I hadn't had the time to test it properly. I knew personal issues had gotten in the way which should have meant me cancelling Next Fest this year and that first impressions matter.
But this is a pre alpha, I cannot make the game better if I don't fix it and get peoples thoughts on what is broken. As a now solo dev not using AI the problems all fall on me and it's down to me to take responsibility and fix those issues.
We live in a time where using AI gets criticism and when not using it also gets criticism for not fixing things at the speed that is now expected. I am not shaming AI users, it's just a preference.
So if you are disappointed, I am sorry and take responsibility for that, I am human and I make mistakes, seemingly a lot. But I am not giving up and I am fixing things as we speak.
This game isn't optional for me anymore, I need to make it and for all of you still here for the ride, buckle up because this is the start of what's to come.
Saying this, the data would show that a lot have played and wishlists are going up in the hundreds, suggesting some are just happy silent types which is fine. Some of the feedback has really made me smile and made it feel worth it, some of the bugs have made me LOL.
Optimizing ๐
I do listen to feedback and that's why I am looking at optimization options, as I am using a new engine version and lighting system it's hard to remove one feature without another, so I am looking at two versions of the game for different systems.
Walking animation! ๐ถโโ๏ธ
I am working on new walking animations to make her more feminine, but this new weighted feeling movement is due to a new movement system which I want to keep, just needs adjusting.
Controller support ๐ฎ
Controller support is getting worked on but with the game designed for M&K when I have a bug to fix with gameplay it does take priority so I am sorry for delays. I managed fine with an Xbox controller with mouse for menus but I am adding more support.
Pre alphas are messy and maybe I should not have used it as a demo, but I want this game ready for next year so need to get the feedback now.
If you played it and enjoyed it, thank you for saying, the comments are really good for me mentally and are nice to read. Feel free to say your favourite part... ๐

This is what I like to hear! In the nicest way possible! ๐๐
Glad you liked it!
Dude I just played your game on my Steam Frame... It scared the FUCK out of me. I can't wait until the full release.

DX12 mode vs DX11 mode:
The left video is the standard mode being run on a RTX 2060 on low settings and on SSD.
The right is the DX11 mode running on the same system but on higher graphic settings.
The frames are better even on higher settings and the GPU usage is down on DX11.
Please do not use this mode if you are using systems targeted for DX12! Use on 10 and 20 series cards as you won't get the benefit.
I am still working on optimising for 30+ series cards.
Even though controller support is still being worked on I tested it on Steamdeck and got 23-26 FPS just to give an idea of lower systems.
Anyone still struggling to run on the recommended specs the only thing I can think of is the SSD and HDD differences in performance. Please make sure drivers are up to date even though these drivers I'm using here are on my old system with old drivers. Some CPUs also may struggle if below recommended or minimum specs.
Some bad feedback seems to be from people not using the new DX11 mode and some have stated to be using specs even below the minimum advised specs. For this I can't suggest anything as if you are using below minimum specs.
This game was built to be used with DX12 in mind to allow modern lighting features and graphics. When running on newer systems on higher graphics the game plays as intended with the atmosphere and lighting it was intended to use.
If you are running on DX11 and on low settings you won't get the full effect of the games design but to try allow more players to join in I added this option, if you don't like the graphics running on the lowest settings I'm sorry but there isn't much I can do and feel insulting the game over it is unfair. It was either this or running strictly for DX12 only and making it only available for high end systems.
I have to take a lot longer to patch now as I'm building two versions each patch so I really hope it's worth it but please don't give bad feedback when you're using specs the game is not designed for and if running as recommended I am proud of how the game looks.
Thank you.
Campers! Please update the game I have added a DX11 version as an option for the demo! I rebuild the game with different lighting, shader settings etc and this should help with performance and work on more systems now! I just tested it on my old rig and got a FPS boost.
Just press play like normal and you will get a option window as shown here.
Also it runs better on SSD which goes without saying but this seems to have also been part of the performance issues.
