What’s the difference between a Design System and a UI kit? A UI kit is mostly a design library in Figma. The building Lego blocks for your product screens. The parts drawer. Reusable components you drag onto a screen. A Design System is composed of Design library + Code library + Guidelines for agents/humans on how to use those three all together. A design system adds standards (do's and don'ts) for how you build at scale. So, if you opened your Figma library tomorrow, would you still call it a design system?
