They can't tell you "we need to expand this thing cause we need to make more money cause we suck. We screwed things up nine ways from Sunday and should never have had our hands on the wheel to begin with."
So they have to astroturf you, they have to gaslight you, and in this case what it sounds like is this:
instead of telling you, "we need to expand this thing so we can make a whole lot more money", it sounds like, "Well, we can't schedule better in the regular season until we expand the college football playoff, because teams won't schedule tougher if they're scared of not making it in."
Now, I know that doesn't fool a lot of you, but these people really do think you're stupid, so they really do believe that fools you, they really do believe you will never realize, number 1, they control the scheduling apparatus already, and number 2, if the playoff rankings process is flawed, guess what?
They also control the rankings protocol!
It's their system!
They can rewrite the rules anytime they want to!
It's their member institutions!
They can tell them to play any game they want to!
They won't, because they're trying to weaponize it because it's a lot more convenient to say, "hey, seals, honk, honk, honk, you guys want better regular season games? Support the playoff expansion. Wouldn't it be great to not see Big Noon Kickoff at Kent State vs Ohio State? Support the playoff expansion."
It's a joke! You're just expected to be dumb enough to buy it.

And of course a larger network person that was the microphone to the silly format his conference wanted floats this out there to attempt to give positive reviews to this format
They're still trying to play it off like there's going to be bigger non-conference games. There won't be, teams may still make the playoff with a tougher schedule but they don't want the wear and tear of one
Ronnie Underwood runs for a touchdown against Texas.
Arkansas Razorbacks, 1955
Arkansas won this game 27-20
Uh, no.
Actually, I've seen several instances of people saying the opposite and none of what you're claiming.
SEC haters love to invent fictitious scenarios in their heads about someone saying things about the SEC that get 7 million likes.
Of course, no one does, but they pretend it happens and then get upset over these fake villains, and those tweets actually do get thousands of likes.
And then they claim they're "fighting the narrative".
No. There IS no narrative. You ARE the narrative.
They sit here and play victim and pretend the SEC is some big evil villain so they can attack it all day, but they can never provide examples of people saying any of the things they claim are being said.
At BEST they can get a terribly clipped quote that is taken completely out of context, or something else that they have to perform insane mental gymnastics on to even justify, knowing anyone with an actual brain can determine it's bullshit.
These are the same people who sit here and go "UCF and Cincinnati should have lost yesterday so that the Big12 would get more playoff teams."
Why aren't there more movies about college football?
Not documentaries or 30for30s, but movies?
I don't mean a Remember The Titans type movie
I'm thinking more like Draft Day
Did You Know:
From 1890-1920, Army (West Point) played 214 home games, 19 neutral site games, and only 2 road games?
They didn't play a single road game from 1894-1920.
Also, from 1922-1963, Army amassed a 188-18-3 home record.
From 1922-1950, that number was 139-9-3.
Did You Know:
From its founding in 1936-1950, the AP Poll did NOT issue pre-season rankings?
At the time, the first rankings were typically issued after Week 2.
Army is hosting Air Force this day
On November 7th, we will be live from West Point with the @USArmy for FOX’s Annual Salute To Service Show

We are here for the big one: UNM vs. NDSU!
The weather isn’t really cooperating right now. There’s a thunderstorm going on, but it’s creating a pretty cool atmosphere here in the stadium!
Yo @UNMLOBOS I'd like sideline passes tooooo

The UNM game last night was such a cool experience and made us think that we might actually prefer games in smaller stadiums.
The atmosphere feels more personal and you keep running into the same people over and over again. At the tailgate, in the stadium, after the game at Raising Cane’s.
Obviously the experience in those huge 80,000+ stadiums is hard to beat but these smaller venues have their own charm too.
And the atmosphere last night was really good as well!
I don't think Minnesota is the best team in the country
Replying to @WytMonster
They want to showcase the best team in the country, not some “has been” programs

Arch Manning was doing all this and only threw for 41 yards in the 2nd half 😂😂
... They play the fight song and have fireworks???? The lights go dim???
They have a little replica cannon that fires 12 gauge blanks?
So they're the exact same as 90% of the other schools
Okay
