Last night’s special performance in Ankara by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra to mark UN@81 was an uplifting experience. It brought distinct voices together in harmony, giving expression to our common hopes for peace, dignity for all, and a more sustainable future.

In line with the implementation & acceleration thrust of @Cop31Turkiye, the UN@81 event today in Ankara entailed climate action of turning waste into exquisite art pieces. Guests joined celebrated sustainable art practitioner, Serkan Serefhannoglu, in transforming waste into art.
In a testament to the strong public support for @UN today in Ankara at the commemoration of UN@81, many senior government officials, ambassadors, academics, business executives & NGO leaders joined UN personnel at the event. More than ever, humanity needs a strong UN.

At the Global Impact Evaluation Forum, organized by #UNICEF, #UNHCR, #FAO, #WFP & #OCHA, I shared @UNICEFAfg's experience with anticipatory action.
The lessons are clear: build resilience by acting early, using evidence, pre-arranged financing & local capacity.
