This is the statement issued by the Met Police about the Defend Our Juries demonstration today. Commander Adam Slonecki, from Scotland Yard, said: “All those intending on coming to this event know that supporting a proscribed organisation is unlawful – they are essentially meeting to purposefully commit a crime.” This is a remarkable contrual of the law and extent of police powers. Surely it cannot be right that someone protesting against the Government’s decision to proscribe an organisation is automatically interpreted by the Met Police as supporting that organisation and is therefore committing an arrest-able offence. This is especially the case when the proscription is being challenged in the courts. I believe the government and parliament made the wrong decision in proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation and I continue to call for its deproscription by the government. If the people turning up today to demonstrate against the proscription of Palestine Action are to be arrested for simply turning up, are we all to be criminalised for suggesting the government got this wrong?

Anyone can be arrested outside the US Embassy in London, including "terrorist" mannequins.

I joined Greens years ago due to our exceptional local party in Huddersfield. I did not join because of Zack or to support a ‘Zionism is racism’ motion.
But I have come to 100% support Zack and 100% support the motion.
Extremely disappointed by Green MPs attacking over this.

Reckon he is still bitter at the results this far along. Maybe, rather than leaking stuff to publications that want to hurt the Greens, he should ensure his constituents are his focus.
EXCL: Senior Greens will warn that the party has been taken over by pro-Palestinian activists who have replaced its environmental values with anti-Israeli politics
Adrian Ramsay, the former leader and MP for Waveney Valley, is expected to give an interview to the BBC on Sunday criticising what has happened to the party under the leadership of Zack Polanski
He leads a group of Green figures including former members of the European parliament as they call for a “conversation about the party’s direction”, after a series of scandals and internal party rifts about antisemitism
New figures show some 18,000 members have left the party since its peak in May this year, falling to about 212,000 after the conference from a height of 230,000
The Times understands some party figures have estimated that up to eight council coalitions could collapse, after Labour said it would pull out of power-sharing agreements if local groups did not denounce a motion to declare Zionism to be racist. The exact number is still unclear

The Met are terrified of facilitating US embarrassment. The Trump administration pushed for the ban on Palestine Action in 2025.
In 24hrs policing has shifted from announcing intent to arrest people just for handing out snacks, to essentially banning peaceful protest altogether.
A Section 35 dispersal order will be in place in parts of central London from 8am to 11pm today.
This is following information that a group are planning to attend an event and express support for a proscribed organisation, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act.
The order will apply to the area outlined in the below map and means officers can order a person to leave the area or face arrest, where certain conditions apply.
Updates on today's policing operation will be posted on this thread.

The witch hunt against Zack Polanski and those standing against apartheid is a TEST for Britain: a Corbyn moment or a Macklemore moment?

I fucking, fucking, FUCKING HATE writing about "antisemitism". I am so motherfucking SICK of it. I hate the word. I hate the rapey, gaslighting way all western institutions are constantly forcing this fake narrative down our throats that opposing genocide and apartheid and crazy wars means you secretly hate some random tiny religious group. Hate it, hate it, HATE it.
But I have to keep writing about it, because if you let them control the narrative it just takes over and becomes the consensus reality. So essay after essay after motherfucking essay I find myself writing "Uh no actually it's not a hate crime to say you shouldn't drop military explosives on buildings full of children" like a fucking moron, over and over and over again.
These freaks make me fucking sick. I hate the way they're constantly trying to stick their gross, rapey fingers into our minds and convince us we think things we don't think and feel things we don't feel. They never stop. They're like a cloud of gnats on a humid summer day constantly trying to fly into your nose, mouth and eyes. You swat them away and they're back an instant later, swarming, suffocating.
Pieces of shit. Fucking disgusting, evil scumbags.

Extraordinary overreach. What are they thinking? They're going to arrest the people driving pensioners and priests to a protest where they intend to hold up a sign? People who give them water? People acting as legal observers?
NEW: the Met issues update threatening “enforcement action” against anyone who provides “logistical support” (water?? snacks?? a foil blanket?) to peaceful protesters at the @defendourjuries demo outside the US embassy tomorrow news.met.police.uk/news/met-…

As Leader of Lambeth Council I am deeply concerned to see local police resources deployed and used in operations like this.
@LambethMPS is already facing serious resourcing issues for vital community policing.
The proscription of #PalestineAction and the resulting police resources needed to arrest peaceful protestors simply does not make our communities safe.
Anyone planning to attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in the vicinity of the US Embassy on Saturday, 31 October will face arrest as part of a robust policing operation.
Expressing support for the group is an offence under the Terrorism Act following its proscription in June 2025, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal in June 2026.

Hasan Piker banned from entering Britain. Sally Rooney unable to sell her books here. Now Andreas Malm barred from the country.
All for speaking out against Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.
This is Andy Burnham’s Britain.
An authoritarian Labour government that continues to arm a genocide while criminalising those who dare to oppose it.
Shame on them all.

Banning Andreas Malm makes perfect sense for the Burnham administration. He’s a leading climate scholar and a Palestine activist. In other words, he represents the two forces Burnham’s government is determined to crush: climate resistance and solidarity with Palestine.

On behalf of the free people of #Palestine, I had the honour of presenting @macklemore with a symbolic gift at the end of his electrifying show in London tonight.
A small piece of Palestine: olive wood craft, made specially for him, holding two glass tubes. One contains Palestinian soil, representing our roots, steadfastness and sacrifice; the other holds olive leaves, symbolising our enduring hope for peace and justice.
Free Palestine.
Free all.
